The Big Pineapple.
Nice place to click photos. Right on the highway, in front of treetop and next to wildlife. Perfect location and got a couple of cafes for hunger buds.If you got time then do visit for photo opportunities, else you can skip.

The big pineapple was once a nice attraction but it looks like it's been let run down. We took our children in 2000 and they had a nice shop and a pine apple plantation, but not now. Unfortunately.

It's a iconic symbol to Queensland and its been heavily impacted due to covid and it may be another lost iconic feature if the government doesn't step in .Hopefully it gets the rail system going again and I sincerely hope one day I get to take my Grandchildren there

Went today because it was advertised as 'open' but it wasn't. The main shop was closed and you can't go into the pineapple. It wasn't until we got there that we learnt it's very run down and there's nothing to see. There was only a little cafe with sandwiches and coffees and a few souvenirs. Ironically some of the souvenirs in the shop are actually quite nice, but who wants a souvenir from a place that's closed?

I visited here on 19 th July 2022 and unfortunately it’s not even a shadow of its former glory! I often came here in the 1980s when it was a fully functional mega tourist facility. However since the new Nambour by pass went through patronage dropped off which is a shame. Currently it’s just a very basic unattractive cafe running at the front yard and due to Covid restrictions these is no access up the iconic big pineapple. In its hey day there were big “ everything “ all the way up the Sunshine Coast.Big bottle big cow big deer. There was even a big lawnmower! I just look forward to the time when this iconic landmark can be restored to full function with the cane train rides etc that made it all such a happy experience

Place is closed except for the coffee shop up front. No train and if you want to climb the pineapple it's locked. Sad really I came as a kid and loved it. If you still want a big thing" photo that's it. Staff in the Cafe were nice though."

Before travelling two hours to visit, I checked google to make sure the big pineapple was still operating. The website mentioned the train was down, okay no worries, the main shop would still be open and we could still see the big pineapple itself right? WRONG. Only thing open was the little cafe and the zoo. We weren't planning on going to the zoo and the tree climb thing wasn't possible due to having children with us. I asked why everything was closed even though it was advertised as open and was advised that the factory was still operating but the public areas were closed due to renovations that were supposed to be completed within three months and was started three years ago but unable to be completed due to covid delays in materials. There was no mention on the main website that I saw about the main shop and big pineapple attraction being closed to visitors.
