Pratten Park
A fabulous place to watch Sydney Grade cricket. Not for no reason has the ground been awarded for the last two years the Best Ground of the Year by the Sydney Cricket Association. Surprisingly close to Ashfield Mall; which is handy if you want to watch a day's cricket but not miss weekend shopping. The outfield is always in excellent condition, the wickets fair and well-prepared and the scoreboard is large, clear and with detailed information. Try to catch the Western Suburbs First Grade team playing at home here. Consistently an excellent team, playing a candidate game for the best of the year against ultimate Premiers Mosman in Round 14 on 19/2/22, and both players and officials are friendly and approachable. The restored heritage grandstand does not have seats. However, usually plastic chairs are around to take into the grandstand; but be prepared and bring a light camping chair and watch cricket from a seat more comfortable than in any grandstand - heritage or otherwise. A canteen - The Magpie Cafe - is open on first grade cricket days with simple tasty cooked food and snacks, solid portions and very reasonably priced. In the immediate vicinity of the Oval are the Pratten Park Community, Sports & Bowling Club (incorporating the Polish Pop-Up Club) and the Western Suburbs Lawn Tennis Association (6) courts.

I was impressed with the facilities. The people & staff were friendly. Most importantly, for people, especially with young children, the toilet facilities were clean and OPEN.

Great place to just walk around and get some exercise. When it's empty, it becomes very peaceful to take a nap or read a book in the grasses outside the field. Love this place!

Ah Pratten park. Was prompted by Google to produce a review of these sporting ovals. My experience is quite limited when it comes to ovals. Never been a particularly sporting type, and at one stage would feel dizzy when I stepped onto an oval as I felt like I might fall off the earth. But back to Pratten Park. So it seems as tho there are a couple of sporting ovals here, that's a real plus when multiple teams are playing or different sports are occurring simultaneously. Gonna have get a bit real talk about the toilets as they seem to be under construction perpetually and the portaloos are portaloos.Sometimes a sort of Mr Whippy stops and sells hotdogs and soft serve. Another story of course but essentially what you would expect from that experience.Parking bears a mention, quite difficult when 200 parents simultaneously arrive for a sporting event and I'm sure the local residents appreciate the impact this has for their on street parking.Overall I would say that pratten park is a very utilitarian outdoor sporting facility that does no more and no less that you might expect from such a facility.

Really nice pitch, the facilities are also complete. Several car parking space down there.

Great for sport and exercise with an oval for cricket/soccer supporting local comps. It has a couple of cricket nets and a grandstand, car park, public toilets, and a small poorly maintained kids playground (something always seems to be broken)

Serving hearty Polish / Hungarian food with a friendly local feel, this is a great spot in Ashfield. A warm summer evening spent over a meal and drinks is excellent.

Great old ground from the earliest days of rugby league. Now a great carpet like surface for cricket in summer.

Undoubtedly one of the best cricket grounds in Sydney Metro. It has an electronic score display with ample parking on site. A little play ground on site where little one can enjoy under the shed. It is a walkable distance from close by Shopping mall.
