Petersham Park
It's a beautiful park. I think it's a bit too small but it's good. It does have a huge ground with audience seats for baseball, cricket or soccer.

Petersham Park
Walked around here a few days ago. Lovely park with a bit of history Petersham Park was proclaimed on the 28 September 1887 following the resumption of Charles Wentworth's former estate. In the early stages of the park it hosted concerts, tennis, cricket, football and basketball games. In 1919 the park was the site of Petersham peace celebrations and later in 1921 the former entry gates to Town Hall were installed on the Brighton Street entry. In 1942 the tennis courts were removed and a kindergarten and swimming pool were constructed.DONALD BRADMANDonald Bradman scored his 1st grade century aged 18 at Petersham Park in 1926 this was his debut appearance in Sydney grade competition at any level.MOLLIE the demon" FLAHERTYMollie was the first female fast bowler in international women's cricket. Mollie's career ran from 1937 to 1949 in which she represented Australia in 6 tests.Mollie was also mean right hand bowler which allowed her to be both batter and bowler for NSW.Mollie also played baseball for Australia and became a champion in golf tournaments after she retired from cricket.Petersham Park has also got book libraries

Petersham Park
A gem of a park with a key place in cricket history. Contains a nice playground, lovely pool and oval. Skip the cafe at the playground and go to The Pig&Pastry adjoining the park for proper food and drink.Okay, cricket history, you ready? Petersham oval is where Don Bradman scored his first century in grade cricket (St. George vs Randwick/Petersham). It also has a mural commemorating Molly Flaherty, the first female fast bowler in test cricket. It also has a lovely historic gazebo. And check out the street library, two, actually! And, as of that weren't enough to make you enjoy this gem of a park, read the signage about dogs. It's fabulous. It's truly hard to believe this park is one block from Parramatta Rd, it feels like you're somewhere completely apart from the city.

Petersham Park
Beautiful inner city park with great facilities. Shame they don't level the playing field, would make it a world class oval for sporting events.

Petersham Park
Beautiful park for a walk. Upon entering the gate on Brighton St I was greeted in a friendly manner by an older gentleman walking his adorable dog. Heaps of people with their pets can be found here. The plaque on the entrance tells me it opened in 1887, so I felt the historic vibe. Tall well manicured trees greeted me with their shade in a uniform row along both sides of the footpath. Another plaque informs you this is where THE Donald Bradman scored his first century in cricket across the way in the well maintained sports oval. There’s also the aquatic centre where people were coming for early morning laps in the pool. It’s named after Fanny Durack, Sydney’s first Olympic Gold Medalist in swimming. Across from that is a playground for the kids. All along the perimeter of the park are gorgeous old trees with opulent trunks - very picturesque. A lovely inner city park for walking and recreation!

Petersham Park
Nice clean park with a generally medium crowd. There's a cricket area, pool (opposite the park with a small cafe). Overall it's a pretty good area for dogs & the general public of families. There is also BBQ's.
