Central Gardens Nature Reserve

Great park, lots of walking trails, a lake and waterfall, kids playgrounds, picnic areas, tennis courts and a wildlife enclosure. All free.Not all walking trails or areas are wheelchair or pram friendly

It's nice to see that Merrylands council have started paying more attention to this park. We visited this place as kids years ago and in the last few years it was let go. There wasn't people looking after it and it just became a mess. seeing the new parks seeing it clean and seeing people come back to visit for barbecues and family picnics was very refreshing. I hope that it gets revitalized to look and feel like it was back in the day

I didn’t knew there was such a nice place in and around Merrylands before going here. Was looking for a place to go Picnic with my family and we found this place. It has some kangaroos and wallabies and nocturnal animals as well. Also birds (a black cucaktoo), waterfall and ducks which my kiddo likes to chase. Highly recommend this place if you are into picnic and barbecues or just like a stroll on nice sunny day to admire the nature.

Great for a nice relaxing day with beautiful scenery. My kids loved the big playgrounds, had many things for them to play with. It has a small but great animal reserve which is free entry. It has small waterfalls which are beautiful and ponds with loads of ducks. Lots of open grass areas to have a picnic or run around with the kids. It also has picnic facilities, bbqs, tables, on site parking and toilets.

Come here all the time with my 2 year old daughter. We love the day time zoo and the awesome park. The council has done a great job.

Best Reserve!!!Lot of activities to do for all ages.Wildlife (Kangaroo, wallabies) and birds are wonderful sights to see.

This is a good park for an outdoor gathering, and it is convenient for locals. The parking is easy due to plenty of street parking. It has a good-sized playground area for kids, and I found it safe for little kids. The green grass area is relatively big, and there is plenty of space for the family to set up and enjoy the atmosphere.We had a family gathering on Sunday for the second time. The kids loved it and we came prepared for the cold weather.Make sure you get there early to enjoy the sunny hours of the day.Park your car on the street, it is only a short walk to get inside.# The park closes at 5:00 pm# The park rangers are very friendly and helpful.

Great park in Merrylands. You can ducks, kangaroos and lots of birds around. Nice place for hangout with family and kids. Nice and big kids area and barbeque options are also there.

Awesome place to take the kids. The playground is great, has shade cloth for a bit of sun protection. It isn't fenced but it doesn't need to be as it's really far from roads.Not too keen on the animal enclosures. If feel really sorry for the animals hand think they'd be better off at Featherdale or Sydney Zoo.
