Lilianfels Park
I often drop in here when I'm a bit early for school pick-up. It's a lovely park and totally underappreciated by locals! Some visitors reviews call the heritage listed faux caves ugly but I think they're just misunderstood ;) They were popular for picniking back in the 40s and 50s! The park as a whole needs some love and the toilet block has been closed for months.

A very interesting display with the history displayed a s to how our early roads across the Great Dividing Range were surveyed and constructed under hard conditions. Well worth a look at, and a read. Very clever display.

Nice little park to relax for a while or have picnic lunch...lots of benches, shady trees and covered shelters...has good views of mountains...a bit of historical background as well...Road Builders Memorial showing the convicts building Cox Road from Emu Plains, over the mountains and through to Bathurst...it has five statues - two convict labourers, one trooper and two Aboriginal men...parking is paid though

Lilianfels Park
Not the prettiest of parks in the Blue Mountains, but it's well-kept, has many benches to sit, and even some rather ugly faux-rock shelters that look like they should be in a theme park. The park sits on part of what was the Lilianfels Estate, and remnants of the fruit orchard can still be seen. Spanish chestnut trees, Portuguese Laurel and cherry trees define the former carriage loop of the estate. The Road Builders Memorial is the highlight, commemorating the convicts which built Cox's Road from Emu Plains, over the mountains and through to Bathurst. Five bronze statues form the memorial - Two convict labourers, one trooper and two bemused Aboriginal men; witnessing the brutality delt to the convicts.

Parking here costs $8 for the first hour then $9 for the next. This town is a bloody ripoff, even more expensive (double) parking than Sydney CBD. But the park itself is great otherwise

We love the birds and the birds love us. We have a picnic in the park, which is walking distance to the Echo Point Blue Mountain.

Leafy, sheltered park with ample amenities nearby. A nice place to catch your breath after the hikes or a muster point for groups.
