Careful if it's been raining.. you'll need a 4x4 to get back out and there is a challenge still to drive down hills keeping the car on the road. If the sun is out the roads will dry up real quick. ✌️

Visited Benarkin to catch up with family. The town has most of what you might need, from fresh food & vegies to RV septic disposal/cleaning stations. A great place to visit as you travel Queensland.

Benarkin state forest has a great campground by Emu creek and once again the forest was brought to life by the KCF short course rally event.

Brisbane Valley Rail Trail crosses Benarkin State Forest between Blackbutt and Linville. Good MTB path, early morning bird life, interesting way points including this culvert.

Clancy's is a lovely spot for a camp, dogs allowed on leash. Immaculate toilet block for convenience. We went mid week and had the place to ourselves.

Beautiful, dry and the gravel/4wd roads are easy to get lost in but it was a wonderful camping trip. Peaceful to get away from the city for a while.

Great place to stay if you're passing through! Free camp site right across from a small convenience store, toilets and showers. Although the showers were not open which was unfortunate.
