The Gardens are very peaceful and beautiful. We went on a hot day and enjoyed the coolness and shade provided by the plants and trees, some of which are astonishing. It would have been helpful if the map containers hadn't all been empty as we found ourselves going in circles a couple of times. Well worth a visit, though. Lunch at the Cafe there was also very enjoyable.

The rainforest in Queensland is the oldest in the world. The Botanic gardens are a unique experience in themselves giving access to walk ways through a small part of the rainforest. The experience is enchanting and the diversity of the flora bewildering. The grounds are accessible to all age groups but the forest walk requires one to be able to walk independently as the passages weave up and down steep mountain sides. Parking is at the road side and is free as is entry to the botanic gardens. The walks through the forest are mapped at the start point and they are graded in various lengths and difficulty. The photos are just a small taster.

On Collins Avenue between Edge Hill and Sheridan Street. A free entry park with plenty of free parking and many ♿️ wheelchair parks. Open 7 days a week from 07:30 to 17:30 with a restaurant and Cafe both open 07:00 to 16:30. This is a beautiful gardens to visit. There are water fountains stationed around the park and plenty of benches to rest at. Suggest you carry a water bottle, insect repellent during the wetter months and wear a good broad brim hat. You could easily spend an hour or two here.
