Huge boulders and stunning rock formations. The pyramid is not for the faint hearted, well worth the scramble to the top for an experienced hiker, hiking boots strongly recommend. If you don't want to hike there are lots of lovely walks for most abilities. Don't forget to check out underground creek, worth the little drive from the main camping and day use area. Stop off at The chocolate shop for a treat on the way home, if chocolate is not your thing, pick up some onion jam, so yummy!

Amazing spot to camp, hike and swim. I don't love how they have demolished the old camp grounds and built a new one, considerably further away from the creek. But I think it'll grow on me.

Girraween National Park
Beautiful bushland combined with colossal granite boulders that have been shaped and rounded by wind and rain for thousands of years. A highlight is the Balancing Rock" that can be found at the top of the Pyramid track. This walk has a lot of steps

We had a great experience in this park. It is so special that no other parks can match. The boulds are very rare and spectacular. My kids said they are meteors landed in this spot of earth. We drove from Brisbane for 3 hours, in a small sedan. The roads are all good, not needing a 4wd. We stopped at Stanthorpe for lunch and arrived at Girraween around 12pm. Walked to the arch, and then to the pyramid. Spent about 3 hours in the park. The pyramid is hard. After a long hill climbing with stairs, the final climb is on the smooth rocks. My kids are scared and stopped without reaching to the peak. Safety first. Even climbing to the half way in pyramid is breathtaking and it is definitely not for weak heart. We had sports shoes and they are not very suitable. Need proper hiking shoes for better grip of the rock surfaces. When it is wet, I can imagine it will be very dangerous to walk on the sloped rock path. Luckily, it was sunny. We then went to Heavenly Chocolate for an afternoon tea and will have a nighe sleep in Warwick. It was a fun drive and bush walk. Very unique one for us to remember for a long time.

Fantastic views and excellent camping facilities. The recent upgrades to the camping grounds has provided flushing toilets with cubicles for showers. Plenty of options for tents or camper vans. The hikes are all well laid out and signposted with just amazing views of all the granite country. My favourite place was exploring and climbing all over turtle rock.and climbing up the pyramid is an experience I’ll never forget.

Stunning national park, camp grounds and hikes. Loads of wildlife around, we did meet a friendly crow halfway up Pyramid rock and did a dance with a baby brown snake on a trail, so be careful out there. Plenty to do for couples or families, especially in the warmer weather to take advantage of the water courses. We camped for 4 nights and tried to hike a bunch of the popular trails, have to go back and do the ones we missed another time. Stop at the cheese factory or a winery or two on the way there and home too, you will not regret it.

A park reserve keeping the natural landscape of the assuie outback. It was a most wonderful morning walk in the cool winter with the air fresh and crisp. Try out all the trails. The view is spectacular!
