Wonderful mountain! 2/10. Would climb it again if I had legs (chewed off by the drop bears).

If you are into bushwalking with some challenges this is for you. To the first lookout its reasonably easy walking. The next section To the Mt Cook lookout starts out fairly easy but gets a bit steep and sometimes a bit challenging in places with the stepping up over rocks. The view at the top well worth the walk.

Nice walk up to the view point . Part way is view of Cooktown , about 20 minutes one way. Go past onto a more challenging hike to the upper view point of the coast. Allow another 40 minutes up a rocky path . End up about 480m above sea level.

Great bushwalk. The orange track is rough with the track blocked at times with debris. Also not well signed at all, with markers up really high and quite faded. Some trees with markers have fallen down so the markers point to another direction which looks to be another trail, bit dangerous if you don't know what to.look for. Thank you to the person(s) who went walking with pink tape and put them up along the track, that really helped. Bit disappointing at the top, just a helipad.. would have been nice to have a little info board so I feel good about making it to the top!

I enjoyed the walk up Mt Cook. Not too strenuous but longish. Allow a good couple of hours. Track well maintained. Lovely lookouts.
