Gorgeous hikes, scenery, lookouts, trees and a good amount of parking. Plenty of bunya pines there. The cottage has a lot of history and knowledgeable people running it. Definitely would recommend. Will re-visit when I can!

Stayed at one of the houses at the Bunya Mountains. Went on the 4km circuit walk through the forest that had waterfalls, hollow trees and expansive lookout views. The natural flora and fauna were also great to experience. After the trek we settled for a drink at the Bunya Mountains Tavern. Would recommend this getaway to anyone.

Bunya Mtns are great to visit when misty rain around. VERY WINDING and steep. Eerie driving up and down narrow roads with the tree canopy over the road. Definitely too steep and narrow for caravans - signs at bottom prohibit them anyway.

Wonderful nature at it's best. Hugh tall Bunya nut trees with footholds cut in the trunks for the indigenous people to climb and collect the nuts from many years ago. Great natural canopy walking tracks with lovely, clear little mountain streams as well as awesome lookouts. Lovely food from the hotel/ Cafe. A real Queensland gem not to be missed. Many sighting of native animals and birds in the area.

A very popular and extensive picnic area adjacent the Bunya Mountains National Park trail entry. A lot of vehicle parking adjacent electric BBQ style picnic areas. Water points nearby, but not suitable for drinking without treatment. Toilet and hand washing facilities with disability access. Trail head starting point for a number of walks from just a few minutes to hours. Plus a large mob of wallabies.
