My first property purchase through Century 21 Grant Smith Property was just over 8 years ago. Since then, I have tried a few Agencies for buying and selling different properties over the Sunshine Coast and Hinterland. Zero stars. Terrible experience with this agent and his team.The 2 times we met with this agent at the open home and again at a private inspection, including multiple telephone conversations - we were never advised that there was a contract on the property. The agent asked that we present our offer in writing to the seller (which we did). It was late Friday afternoon (after the draft contract went to our solicitor, and after the agent heard back from the seller) that we were told there was an existing contract on the property (as we questioned the reason for the 'Sunset Clause'). To put it simply - we would have never considered to peruse a property if we were told at the open homes and our first contact with this agent that there was an existing contract on it. But all the same they continued to have open homes (even with a contract on it) and continued to present it as an available home.This was truly an eye opening experience that showed us another side to the property market that shocked us. And to be made to feel that we were at fault, and trying to take a property from the existing buyer was really not a good way to handle the situation at all. And the first thing we said to this agent is we like everything to be transparent" not the case in this situation.And their response is completely false - not once was anything explained "in depth"
