I had some time to kill in the area so went to this tiny little Chinese joint to sit and eat. They wanted to charge me $2- to dine in and of course 50c for the privilege of soy sauce. The fried rice had possibly spam and carrots in it. Admittedly the short soup was tasty. The manager was really rude to the girl serving behind the counter. She was trying to clean up and he dressed her down cause she dared to get in this important man’s way - how dare she do her job! All up decidedly average. You can do better than eat here

**Real Rating should be -1 Star based on Customer Service alone**We have been a regular customer from this restaurant for many years (back when it was Prestons Chinese Rest). Since changing to The One Chinese Restaurant we noticed the food was hit and miss a times but we were loyal customers and continued to support them. However, this all changed last Friday night... we placed our order through menulog like we always do and received confirmation of delivery at 6:15pm. At 6:10pm we were notified the food had left and was on the way. considering we are one suburb away we expected delivery around 10mins. The driver finally arrived at 6:40pm (30mins after leaving the restaurant) and I questioned what took so long and he responded with well I had 4 others to drop off on the way and you have to go in order". I was polite and advised him I hoped the food was not cold but he just handed me the bad

SERVING PORK IN THE NAME OF HALAL FOOD, NOT ADMITTING MISTAKE AND OUTRIGHT RUDE!The lady at the counter confirmed beef and chicken is halal and will be cooked separately, confirmed food will be halal, and then served us dinner pack with pork in the fried rice! We called and the owner hung up the phone on us! When called again, stated WHY DO I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HALAL IS" WHAT! WHY MAKE FALSE PROMISES!! Did not even care to apologise!! The level of rudeness from this person is unbelievable! Went on and on about how wrong we are! I wanted to give local business a chance and its sad to see owners like this! All we wanted was an acknowledgement of mistake! But sadly

People whinging about how rude the owner is. Really! People pay for this kind of service at Karen's Diner. Are you eating his food or having dinner with him. The food is fantastic. Generous portions and well priced. Go pay $10 extra a dish elsewhere to get that smile your looking for when they are taking your money. Stop being so precious.

Been a loyal customer to this restaurant but will definitely not be coming back after appauling customer service from the owner.Just like many other reviews have brought up here.. the owner is RUDE AND ARROGANT.Went in to grab some Takeaway with my husband and two of our friends.Served our friends first . Wasn't friendly but also wasn't overly rude ..Fair enough MAYBE he just isn't a friendly human...Serves my husband and I nextNo greeting just a yes ?"and a glareStarted orderingAsked a simple question asking how many pieces are in a dish we wanted to order as we were tossing up between ordering one or two servings of the dish ...Owner arrogantly glares at us and loudly replies " what u expect me to count the pieces ? How would I know ?" Smirks and just glares at us as if we had asked something so out of this world .We were so thrown off guard at his response. Our friends heard the entire thing so this better not be denied if they read this.Get that guy off the orders and serving customers before you lose more REGULAR CUSTOMERSFood has always been great.Every other staff member has always been so pleasant to be served by.Surely not faulty them just YOUR ARROGANT RUDE OWNER ."
