Cahills Crossing
Known to be croc infested, I can confirm. So I was surprised to find 2 fishos standing on rocks in the middle of the crossing, inches above the water line. Unbelievable.

Better than I expected. We saw crocs and people fishing for barra. Driving over the crossing is not for the faint hearted

A place with plenty of stories and history about it. A new viewing platform has been installed in the past 12 months giving loads of shaded seating options to choose from.An interesting stop on your way to Ubirr. You can watch the traffic crossing over to Arnhem Land, including the big road train hauling goods. Plenty of fishing happening from the banks. Keep your eyes peeled for the crocs, there's plenty in there.

We didn’t come at the best time, but it’s still a rewarding experience! A place where fishermen and crocodiles are fishing together! I guess the end of dry season is probably the best time of year? When so many crocodiles with so little water around? High tide is still important, saw 3 crocodiles waiting right before the sunset! The viewing platform is a great place to sit and enjoy the view!

In May we only saw one crocodile. Tour guides commented that during the wet season that you will see a lot more. It's a short drive to Ubirr from here so it's worth a 5 minute stop in to have a look.

What a great spot to stop and watch the different activities. Crocs, people fishing from the banks, fishing from the crossing itself, cars crossing, someone ran out of fuel on the crossing and someone got towed over all while we were there.

This is a totally awesome place we sat here in the shade of the trees for quite some time watching the fishing people and watching trucks and cars go through the fairly deep water of the crossing then we cam back a day later and it was totally different again well worth the trip out there and sit & watch

Cahills Crossing
A fascinating spot, a respite from the heat and mozzies at our campsite. Entertaining watching the tide rushing in and then back out across the roadway & rocks from the well constructed viewing platforms. Several people on both sides of the river catching barra and tour boats going up & down. Several crocs too sighted and on our 2nd day visit, we had the bonus of a ranger doing a very educating & funny talk for over an hr at 3pm. Interesting watching the traffic making the crossing too.
