Australia Post - Cairns Post Shop

Have been in twice, once to open a PO box and once to collect a parcel. Both times, the staff were helpful and friendly. Has a parcel collection locker system outside along with the usual post office functions inside. Parking on site as well.

Not a very pleasant service. They closed and locked the door few minutes after I have entered the store. However their was a few people waiting in line in front of me. By the time it was my turn, it was past 5 which is their closing time. Unfortunately my parcel was to go overseas. The lady (short, grey haired) looked so annoyed and said “we have closed at 5 and you have no time to fill the customs form!” in a very unpleasant rude way. I understand I may have to be sent out of the store due to closing time however as a customer, I have entered the door few minutes before they closed and I believe the lady could have said “sorry we are closed and there will be no time to fill the form out” or something nicely. The lady did not appologise at all and her face was somewhat disgusted that I was there near closing time.I am very unhappy with how the lady handled a customer who entered the store before closing time, before they locked the door, waited 10minutes in line. She made me feel like I was rude to be there to send international parcel at that time. Even if she thinks so I understand as they want to go home however it should never be spoken that way. I said “ I didn’t know as the door was opened and I didn’t know about the form. That is rude to say it that way. You could say sorry” but she didn’t say a thing and just handed me the form. Again, I would have been happy to come another time after filling out the form however she should have explained it in a more nice way or even just appologise about it.

Really poor service at this site.First, they never actually make an attempt to deliver your parcel. It goes straight to the post office every.time.Secondly, the hours on the post office card are not accurate. The card says they are open to 5:30pm, but they close earlier.Third, they are unreasonable with requiring physical ID to pick up. I had my post card from them, two pieces of digital ID (passport and driver’s license) and they made me go home to get my physical ID (which I usually bring but just forgot at home this time, trying to make it to the post office after the gym before they close!). They would not let me sign for it and said they needed the physical piece. I get that’s the official rules, but seems a bit silly given there was no doubt this was my package and I was who I said I was. Common sense would be appreciated!!

Every single time my partner or I go in to collect a parcel there is an issue. Whether that be that they tell me the parcel isn’t there or they look in the incorrect place. Today my partner was told to go to the warehouse as it wasn’t at the post office however when he went to the warehouse it had been delivered already to the post office. A lady by the looks of a Karen is rude every time we go in there and quite frankly I’d be happy to never have to collect parcels from there ever again but we don’t really get a choice. Pick up your act.

One out of three employees were friendly. The man, Authur, who served me was really rude and wouldn’t listen to me. Didn’t even apologise when he made a big mistake which took along time to recover. Very unpleasant.

I asked thousands of questions regarding re direction mails and registration of PO post box, the lady Lisa was very very patient and didn't even make any negative reaction when i asked for an withdrawal of my registration.. thank you so much, very happy to live in cairns cuz of ppl like you!

I got served by a man called Adrian I think. Absolutely awesome customer service. Man needs a pay rise to keep him there. Went beyond to help me get my package
