Lives up to the hype. Every dish offers a flavour sensation with a balance of sophistication and simplicity delivering scrumptious unique dishes. Venue has a great ambiance and share table adds to the Asian cuisine experience.

Amazing lunch at Cho Cho San, had the feast degustation at $95/pp.Started off with sashimi and Edamame, sashimi was fresh with really flavourful seasoning that and edamame had been chargrilled which provide it with more flavours. Love it.Pork cutlet had been fried with peanut oil which give it a fragrance after taste. Brown fried rice and shrimp is great too.The wagyu main takes it to the next level. It comes with a few sides for you to make it into a wrap. Personally i do not recommend it and prefer to have the Wagyu by itself. The other side dishes overwrite the flavour of the meat itself and you can’t really taste the freshness of the meat.Dessert is pretty average. Was expecting something smaller rather than sticky date pudding. Couldn’t finish it. Mochi was not bad but nothing wow.Overall a nice meal and would definitely recommend anyone in Sydney to try it out!!

We paid a visit after hearing great reviews and had high expectations knowing it was a one hatted restaurant. But it didn’t live up to the hype & our expectations. We had the Izakaya set menu & a few extra Katsu Buns. The buns were fantastic but the set menu was underwhelming. Only the sesame noodles & sticky date pudding stood out from the 8 dishes. The edamame & eggplant was too salty and the cabbage salad was under seasoned with no taste. We still couldn’t believe a bowl of “white rice” was one of the set menu dishes. The service can also be improved. Our sparkling water was not promptly refilled, we had to ask a few times. The tables are very small & when our plates started piling up, the staff didn’t bother to clear our empty plates, we again had to ask. There was also a long service gap between our meal when the staff had a team gathering - which we understand, but no one was available when we needed help. We were just waiting with a table of empty plates for the next dish to be served.Overall, we felt all the flavours were basic, either over/under seasoned & lacked innovation. This is one of the restaurants we won’t be going back to.

Top service and great food!Had a smaller izakaya set menu there. Food was great, salmon sashimi was definitely a highlight. All the dishes were very tasty and the kitchen was accommodating of dietary requirements (pescatarian and dairy free). The service was amazing and elevated the experience, the waiter appeared out of nowhere exactly when needed :-)

I've heard about Cho Cho San for a while until I have a chance to try. I love the environment when I first step in, basic but delicate decoration. They have a good service too. But the food isnt good like what I expected. The main flavour is salty and sour, and it keep repeat over and over again from the Tuna Scallop to the Ribs. I was expected something that full of flavour and can amazed me. The only dish that good to me is the Beef Tartare, It's a good combination between betel leave and nori. The hero is cocktail, I love the cocktail, so fresh and tropical. Everything will be perfect if they try to balance the flavour of the dish. $300 for a whole meal, still a good experience.

Wow, can’t rate this restaurant highly enough. From the ambience, service to delicious food & cocktails - it was an amazing dinner. Wagyu scotch, sticky date pudding and kimono cocktail were 11/10.Every dish was a highlight and the staff were so attentive, helpful and smiley. Will be back!

Kept seeing people promoting this restaurant on social media so I wanted to give it a try, and in my opinion, it was overrated. Long dining table sharing with strangers made it awkward. Whenever I looked up/ straight, I saw the opposite person (strangers of course) eating/ drinking, it was not a very nice view. By somehow I did not have a choice of booking normal table when making the reservation. In term of food, with the price, it could be better: taste and display/ plating. I felt like there was no love to the dishes. I was asked for any special occasion when making the reservation, it was my husband’s birthday so I ticked birthday. I did not expect for anything, but I thought properly the chef would put a candle on the dessert. Really, nothing happened. So I was wondering so why ask? We dined at so many restaurants, staff usually acknowledged the guest occasion if it was noted in the booking. Maybe for the restaurant survey purposes. In term of service, it was okay, nothing special, the waitress did not check on how we went or how the food was. Overall, it was an average dinner.

This place is FABULOUS! I went here for a girls dinner and we all loved it! Would definitely recommend sharing their mixed sashimi platter! Their king crab omelette with Japanese curry was lovely but could have used some more crab pieces. The prawns with kombu butter were incredible. Will be back here for sure!
