Fatboy Trims

Been going to see Lee and the boys for years now, always a good experience. They are always good for a laugh and a chat, do a good job and charge a fair price. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait but that's only because everyone else wants their hair cut there too - I think they're worth waiting for.

Have been getting my hair cut for 8 years exclusively at FatBoys usually 5 to 6 times a year . Even when I moved down to Mawson Lakes for 12 months I still did the 50km round trip for haircuts BUT last Friday I arrived at 510pm . Business hours on the door say closes 530pm . I walk in , say just made it . I’m delighted to see both Lee the owner and his offsider have vacant chairs and another new barber looks like he is finishing up and there is no one else waiting . I should point out my cuts are primarily done by clippers and never take longer than 15 minutes . Lee says sorry mate we’re closed , i meekly protest it says 530 on the door . Sorry mate we’re closed . Disappointing end to an 8 year relationship. Off to Daves now . My turn to say sorry chaps , you’re only as good as your last haircut …..

Not one to review much but thought I had to write this one. I went in there today randomly to get a hair cut and it was a very poor experience. The guy cutting my hair wouldn’t stop talking to the other barber and some of this conversation was regarding previous clients and their religious beliefs. He asked where I was from, I told him the suburb and then I was stereotyped based on the suburb I live. He said to others in the store to “hold on to their wallets” which I thought was quite rude. I counted him checking his Apple Watch SEVEN times WHILE cutting my hair, scissors In hand! He then stopped to text and then stopped AGAIN to put a load of washing on and then at 3pm decided to shut all the blinds in the shop and lock the door after a customer had walked in (There was only 2 people waiting for a cut at this point) he then told everyone in the shop they had closed and he had booked to cut peoples hair for a wedding.. that he was complaining about to his other barber. Finally because the door was locked on the way out and he didn’t even unlock it for me I did it myself. The attention to detail is poor and the bloke was way to worried about other things going on around him, the customer service is non existent and I felt totally uncomfortable. The whole ordeal took me about 1hr when at my usual barber this is a 15minute job with total 100% attention to detail.Don’t recommend this barber at all.

My local go-to when ever I need a trim!Always can have a good laugh & joke with the staff.

Best barbers shop in Gawler!No gimmicks just good blokes doing a great job. Never had a bad cut in over 10 years. Great with kids and have seen them do wonders with special needs kids as well.

My son gets his hair cut here and won't go anywhere else. Good value

I came in for a haircut and was explicit that I didn’t want it layered like a 80s house wife, I didn’t want to look like a Karen and I haven’t had a good haircut in 10 years/ I have thick long hair even all round to my shoulders ( I’m male) I was told every haircut is layered ( it was not layered when I walked in was it!) and if I didn’t come in with a picture of the hair cut I wanted they didn’t know what I wanted - experience is golden? well like every other hair dresser in Gawler (just like Dave the barber ) after the cut every shop I entered the manager confronted me and said ‘ so Karen what seems to be the problem’Generic, unimaginative and typical hair cuts- Imagine if you did something different, I won’t come backAnd stop thinking you’re funny because you’re not your awkward and come across creepySigned - Karen

My boys felt very comfortable coming here for a haircut. The men did a fantastic job, kids are very happy with the results and so are we. Great customer service, very friendly, great music, wonderful hair cutting skills!!!!

After moving to Gawler in 2012 I had tried several other businesses in the first 12 months never receiving the same cut twice. I received a different result depending on the shop and/or stylist every time.I therefore decided to give Fatboy Trims a go after receiving multiple recommendations from new friends I had made in the area and I have to say I’ve never looked back.The shop reminds me of the old-fashioned English barbershops I would frequent back in the UK before moving to OZ.The atmosphere, look, feel and general banter between Lee (the owner), other barbers and the customers make for a great experience, which I look forward to every 4 - 5 weeks.I can’t praise this barbers enough and have no issues recommending this establishment to anyone who wants a quality hair cut from a friendly and professional barber whether you live local to Gawler or are simply in the area and in need of a general spruce up.On a final note, being a Pom I do like to moan and complain (there goes that banter again) but I have to say that I've never had cause to ever moan or complain about Fatboy Trims other than when Lee was forced to close on Saturday mornings!Keep up the excellent work mate and I'll see you soon for my 357 ☺

Amazing place. I've been getting my hair cut there for 13 years and have loved every experience . Always great conversations real gentlemen's club highly recommended. If your a snow flake and don't like real genuine conversation maybe go to a salon .
