MDI Service Centre

I have been a regular customer of MDI Sydney since they installed my electric gate over 20 years ago and have always admired their professional staff from the receptionist in their Service Centre through to the mechanic who ultimately does the repairs.I was deeply disappointed however yesterday with the Service Centre operator.I cannot EVER remember being spoken to in such an abrupt, impatient, uncooperative manner by anyone in a service capacity anywhere.I had submitted a repair request via their website 2 weeks earlier, which obviously had not been received and in desperation had called and sent multiple texts to my service mechanic of past (who sadly has relocated to Queensland)I was now anxious to book with the Call Centre a service asap.What followed was 10 minutes of abuse by a hostile, unprofessional, impatient and inattentive receptionist who desperately needs customer service training or to be shown the door!!!When I hung up I wasn’t even sure my booking had been made after I refused to pay with credit card upfront for the service.This morning my faith in MDI was renewed when a charming mechanic rang, apologising for his early arrival to fix the gate and did succeed after 10 minutes.If the aggressive receptionist had better communication skills she would have documented an early call out from 7am WAS requested, as I had to go to work, as did I tell her, that I knew what the problem was, a missing magnet on the gate ALSO UNDOCUMENTED.Good customer service genuinely determines the success or failure of any business, and I’ll be thinking long and hard about revisiting the MDI Customer Service Centre anytime soon. I’m sure I won’t be the only recipient of this unhappy individual.

Completely dishonest business.- Slow to respond- Rude- Outrageous quote $1100 (got the job done from another provider for $350)- wanted to charge 3 callout fees for 1 callout.- waste of TIME!

BE WARNED: $360.00 + gst =$396.00 for a call out fee that is 15 minutes from their head office to turn on and off a machine. Highway robbery.
