Looksmart Alterations

I had my wedding dress altered at Looksmart. It was a long ball gown which needed to be shortened and the skirt had 7 layers of fabric, so this was a task that required the attention of an experienced and confident professional. I had actually taken the dress to another alteration shop, but did not feel that the staff there understood my needs or had the expertise to do the work correctly- and I did not feel safe leaving my precious dress with them! So when I remembered that I'd previously had good service at Looksmart, I headed over to Chatswood with my dress and was instantly put at ease. The staff there understood immediately my needs and gave advice about the length of various layers of the dress to make it sit properly, which turned out to be spot on. The work was finished in about 3 days, for a reasonable price and I was delighted with the results! Thank you to the professional staff at Looksmart Chatswood- i will always come to you first in future!

Dropped off a blazer that I wanted tailored & overnight I changed my mind, deciding to return the garment to the store. I called Looksmart first thing in the morning and they said they hadn’t altered it yet and would put it aside for me to collect. When I went in to collect it, they had tailored it and it was stained. They offered to dry clean it however I advised I didn’t want it tailored and now I couldn’t return it. The manager called me the next day and said she “forgot” to pass on the message to the tailor and she was sorry. I asked for a refund for both the item and the tailoring which they reluctantly agreed to. I was then asked to produce a printed receipt for the garment from the retailer I purchased it from & proof of the original phone call, which I was never asked for over the phone. I waited for over 20 mins in store today while the lady on the front desk ran around between the counter and the office (obviously speaking to the manager) asking me for proof of all of this when the manager had already admitted she forgot…

Thought this would be a safe tailor given its location. Horrendously wrong. I dropped my dress off on 18 Sep and paid for expediated alternations needing to be picked up at 10am on 23 Sep. Arrived at 1030am, was told it would be ready at 12pm. The lady who had taken my dress had entered 12pm on the system so it wasn't ready. I had used the ipad so the order was digital and didn't have a paper receipt. They refused to refund my payment for expediated alternation. At the end the lady went to trim a thread on the back of the dress and part of the hook and eye came off. Then was told I'd have to pay to re attach it. Figured better not trust them with an expensive garment. This place is terrible.

Says it’s open 10-5 Easter Monday but it still isn’t at 10:30 - not open and no signs up at shop to tell people if it’s going to open. Understand if shops want to close for holidays but please update your holiday hours in Google so people know and don’t waste their time travelling & waiting for nothing.

Customer service was faultless, very gentle and thorough. They looked after my dress as if it was their own. Highly recommend.

Had an absolutely amazing experience. I first came here to alter my dresses as a bridesmaid a year ago... and the last few months have been back to alter my own wedding dresses! Tatiana is well experienced, has great attention to detail and made sure to follow through with my job from beginning to end. I bought a pair of trousers at a retailer in Chatswood who gave me a $15 voucher at this shop for shortening the hem. I took the trousers to the shop and the lady at the counter said the voucher didn’t apply to my trousers which were “complex” and she insisted on $30. My trousers were simple cotton trousers with no lining; they were casual and definitely not work trousers. She was rude and I didn’t want to argue so I just walked away. She then stopped me and said she would accept the voucher. Purely out of convenience, I stayed and gave the job to that shop. There are many alteration shops in Chatswood and I know at least one offered same day hem shortening service at the same price and I didn’t have to be treated rudely. The hem shortening job itself was fine but the attitude was unpleasant.

really nice Work！the suits suit me perfectly . So does my wife's dress suit her. Highly recommended！
