Coles South Melbourne

The renovation of the store is an ongoing disaster. The site is probably unsafe and the product placements frequently change - to different locations than the directory. Too hard to shop here when there are excellent alternatives close by.

I assume that Coles is renovating their store because it is a bit of a mess and is way too squishy in some areas. It also closes really early so has lost the convenience factor.

Being within The Clarendon Centre in central South Melbourne, this Coles store is perfectly located for us and we have shopped at here many times and have always had a good shopping experience. The store is well organized and the shelves and fridges are usually well stocked. We have also always found the staff to be super friendly and helpful. The free 1.5 hours underground car parking on busy Clarendon Street is also a real bonus.

I'm a regular customer at Liquorland located opposite to Coles in South Melbourne. Of late (and in the past), the store fails to open at its specified time. Today, as it happens, it hadn't open as at 11.00 am when its opening hours start at 10.00 am. I find this frustrating and gave up. I'm not happy.

Coles South Melbourne is our go-to shop for grocery for the past 5 yearsThroughout this period, customer service has significantly worsen. Thing that my family and I took on board and understood, especially throughout Covid and this difficult time.However, I was deeply disgusted when I found this on the shelve, a sealed pack of Jalsberg sliced cheese covered in mold. Not sure which party involved in the Logistics was in fault, but it should not have been put on a shelf. This is just disgusting and dangerous.(And note that I am french, I love some cheese with controlled" mold not an entire Eco-system growing up on it)I would have gone with my day without writing any complaints until the cashier commented my purchase to the next customer and start laughing: "These heirloom tomatoes are so expensive ! I can't believe people are willing to spend that much money for just "tomatoes"."Excuse my french but: What the Hell?. Are we now gonna be judged (out loud) for what we buy?Just disgusting."

Spacious space but some items are usually out of stock. Also they have the worst white grapes you can ever taste, they're literally sour. Is there no quality control at all?

NO STARS ARE YOU KIDDING MECUSTOMER SERVICE IS AT ALL TIME LOW OF THIS STOREI'VE BEEN ABUSED VERBALLY FROM COLES STAFF AND SECURITY STAFF BECAUSE I AM A SHOPPERI'VE BEEN STALKED BY A SECURITY GUARD IN THE SHOPI HAVE BEEN VERBALLY ABUSED BY STAFF OF FRESH HUMAN BLOOD ON THE SELF CHECK OUTS AND OR ON SHOP FLOORSI HAVE HAD TO CALL THE HEALTH TEAMS OF OHS ISSUES IN THE STOREI HAVE NOTICED THE SELF CHECK OUTS RIPS YOU OFF IN THE COIN DEPOSITTHE ONGOING STALE FOODS ON THE SHELF IS A RISK TO US ALLAS IS THE SHOP FLOOR WITH THE DISAPPEARING PRODUCTS LET ALONE THE NEW REFURB WHICH IS A CAUSE FOR CONCERN AS HOW CAN A SHOP EVEN OPEN WITH LIVE WIRES HANGING FROM THE CEILING YET AGAINYOU CANT REPAIR OR RE INVENT NEW CONCEPT TO REPLACE WHAT WASNT WORKING IN THE FIRST PLACETHEIR DELIVERY, STOCK LEVELS AND INFLATED PRICES ARE WRONGI SEE POLICING UNITS NOW HAVE A STAND OUT THE FRONT OF COLES WATCHING US ALL

It's a nice store and recently going through a Coles Local upgrade. My only gripe is the opening hours are 4 hours a day less than the Woolworths in South Melbourne.

Opens to late, not enough takeaway foods from the bakery, the hot croissants are the only food available for a quick bite,This morning I was so disappointed to find no croissants in the warmer, this is a outter outrage, make more room in the warmer to fill more and don't just do plain ones do some with cheese, AND restock them when there empty, I will calling the team at coles after work today.
