Stamford Grand Adelaide Hotel

Amazing location right on the beach. We had a room with a view of the beach, jetty and the ferris wheel. We saw the most amazing sunset view from our room. It was a lovely place to stay, wish we could have stayed longer. It is also very close to lots of food venues and the tram into Adelaide.

Had lunch there today. We arrived about 1.30pm. Got directed to a table facing the beach, nice.Had their lunch special at $22.00 plus a glass of wine at $3.00. The mussels seafood pasta was plain and I didn't like the defrosted calamari, no taste and chewey. My partner had their pan fried sardines, three pieces of sardines. It is OK for the price.Service is poor. We were left waiting for the water when assigned to the table, but the waiter disappeared with no body in the dinning room at all. Took him a long time to reappear.The same thing happened when we left, no body in the dinning room to accept payment. I could have left without paying.

Service not very good. Prices are exorbitant compared to services and room facilities they are providing. I guess they are selling brand name instead of services. Same holds good for thier another hotel at North Terrace. I have had experience at both hotel branches. You can find highly competitive prices in Adelaide with other options in the area and that too with much better service quality.

So glad we changed accommodation. A great experience, sparkling and canapes included with your dinner, served in the lounge overlooking the ocean. Breakfast pastries were very fresh and a very good selection. Thanks to the lovely staff for everything.

Awesome spa and pool experience after an early flight 6am via Melbourne then a nice walk along promenade. Great room and gees TV view too. Only negative is no parking in hotel.

Lovely old hotel, great position great facilities, highly recommend the ocean view rooms, for food and good times head to the Moseley just across the road, fun until midnight (all bars at the hotel close at 9)

Carpets definitely need a deep clean and an update! The gaming room needs an update as well, the gaming machines only take coins the person behind the bar doesn’t do cash out, and when the atm in the gaming room doesn’t work it’s just a waste of time.We had an awesome view of the beach but our bathroom could have had a fan… we had shower and the whole bathroom fogged up. The staff were lovely and helped us out. But considering it’s one of the more “established” hotels in Adelaide and the amount you pay for the room, you’d expect a bit more from this I place.

A friend gave us a gift certificate for our 40th anniversary and we added an extra night to make it a truly memorable weekend.We may have been expecting more but our experience was mostly underwhelming. Our anniversary was acknowledged at the check-in desk but when we got to our tired-looking room..not so much as a chocolate other pillow.At Breakfast we gave our room no. to the staff member at the restaurant who then obviously had better things to do than show or direct us to a table or explain anything about the buffet or coffee etc.Then to really ice the cake the staff at check out said 'we hope you had a nice birthday 'When we looked at our banking a couple of days later there were 2 charges which didn't appear on the bill. I hope it wasn't for bottled water as their website clearly says it is complimentary in our room. I've tried twice to phone them but it has rung out both times.

Our lunch here was lovely.A set price for lunch with a few different dishes to choose from.We chose the homemade lamb and black pepper sausage and the creamy seafood chowder.For $22.00 per head, the food was great value and both meals were delicious and presented beautifully. I would come back and eat the same food again tomorrow.You could also add a glass of house wine to your meal for an additional $3.00.Well done Stamford! We had a wonderful lunch overlooking the water and the staff were great.
