Seems like a great place to learn to fly. One of Australia's oldest clubs. Christian patiently explained the process of getting your pilots licence and showed us one of the planes.

I've been a member for over fifteen years and found the training to be first class. A very friendly atmosphere with more than just a place to fly. The bar on Friday night is a great place to meet fellow pilots .

If you are a student who would love to learn to fly for fun and decide to choose here, learn with grade 1 or 2 instructors as they can teach, access your skills and permit you to the next phases. I used to learn with a grade 3 instructor; every 15 hours or so, i had to book a grade 1 instructor for a check flight and to allow grade 3 instructor to move on to the next lessons. Grade 3 instructors were not allowed to decide on many things and you will have to spend a few extra hours with seniors for things like skills assessment or flight check..., which will surely increase your flying hour and your spendings. However, they prioritise full-time students so most of grade 2 and 1 are for them, casual mostly get grade 3.My grade 3 instructor was inexperienced and often afraid by different factors so he was not confident to let me solo even when I already flew more than 20 hours and grade 1 instructor said my skills was ok to go. I don’t know if there is anything behind so I decided to stop learning there, so frustrated. Also, i always had to drive 40 mins to the school for my lessons but it were cancelled many times due to bad weather. The instructor should be more proactive by giving me a call 30 mins before so I didn’t have to drive a long way there for nothing.This school has well maintained aircrafts and the parking is near the runway which is a plus but there were always long queue waiting for take off and landing which extend your time holding on ground.The management was an old fashioned. There was no online booking system and everything mostly on the phone. I sent email to the school a few times before joining but had never received any reply.The chief pilot was aggressive and I saw him raised his voice with grade 3 instructors no less than 3 times from tiny mistakes like when they let their students come too early which he had to come out to open the door or when they forgot to lock the steering wheel... Many problems from this old fashioned school so i stopped flying with them. I wouldn’t recommend anyone here if they still operate this way.From a casual student

Great instructors, spoke to Corey. He spent a lot of time with me going through the course and what RVAC is all about. Other schools wont spend the time with you.

I am proud to say that I was a student of Royal Victorian Aero-Club. Honest and easy going school.I have completed by CPL MECIR in 2013 and cannot speak highly enough of them. The facility is impressive and the standard of training second to none. All instructors are really professionals and very helpful. They would go extra mile to help students achieve their goals.Recently after completing instructor rating I got the opportunity to join Royal Vic team as a grade 3 instructor. Great opportunity to work with such professionals and I highly recommend Royal Vic for their professionalism and their friendliness.

It is the place to motivate you.Professional instructors as well as friendly atmosphere with well maintained aircrafts. No regrets.

If you ever wanted to be a pilot, this is the right place to go. Great instructors, variety of aircrafts to chose. However, be prepared for hard work, study long hours and it will be rewarding.

Had a trial flight given to me as a gift. Corey took me for my flight and he was great. Very enthusiastic and eager to teach as much as he could in the hour. Highly recommend. Everyone was very kind and helpful.
