Studio Thimbles - sewing classes Perth

Olga and Daniela are patient and knowledgeable sewing teachers to help first time sewers to gain confidence with a sewing machine. The classes are well planned and offered in small group sizes allowing one on one instruction and guidance. I learned so much from the beginner class, now I have 4 projects in fun fabric as well the basics to continue sewing.

I completed the level 1 and level 2 sewing courses and have not stopped recommending Olga and Studio Thimbles to my friends and family. I've been taught by both Daniela and Olga, and they create a fun, welcoming learning environment. From not knowing how to thread a needle to making my own clothing - my sewing skills have grown remarkably. Thank you!!

Being a beginner and never using a sewing machine, I felt really nervous coming to the class. Olga makes the lessons super easy to follow and I had confidence from my first lesson. Olga answers any questions you have, shes patient, fun and overall the classes are so much fun to go too. I look forward to ever Wednesday knowing I have a fun sewing class to go too.

If you want to learn how to sew, the basics from how to turn on the machine to threading your bobbin and needle, to a variety of stitches, making some pretty cool pieces along the way, I highly recommend this course. Olga is amazing, friendly, approachable, helpful and such a good teacher. I went from an absolute zero to the fact that I can make shirts, pants, tote bags and she thought me basically how to read and understand any sewing instructions that come with patterns you purchase. Besides all the learning Olga will definitely make sure you have fun along the way. I couldn't be more thankful for the fact that I took the courses with Olga, she pumped up my confidence and I know I can still call her or text if I get stuck on one of my projects. I bought my first machine, and geared up on some essentials for me home sewing corner. I love spending time doing different things and I am very passionate about the fact that I can make my own clothing or change, pretty up some of my old things and help a little bit in saving the planet from unwanted waste of fast fashion. I look forward to my sewing classes each week. Olga is kind and caring and encourages us at every step, I learn so much from her. All you need for your creations is provided in the first class.I have learned to make cushion covers, aprons, skirts, tops, dresses, trousers and am now making classic Peter Alexander style pj’s complete with piping!These classes have given me confidence to make my own clothes from patterns at home and skills I have learnt have allowed me to fit my own clothes to myself better. I also have confidence using a sewing machine and overlocker.

Olga's knowledge, professional skills, warm personality and patience makes her sewing lessons inspiring, motivating and a privilege to attend. Her ability to teach practically, whilst also encouraging independence and imagination through all the garments we make is invaluable. The skills and sequencing of learning to sew are presented clearly and logically and her additional one-to-one one support within the class is so generous.

Loved, loved my experience at Studio Thimbles, Beginners Sewing Course Level one. Being very much a novice, Olga gave me the confidence to use a sewing machine without kangarooing" too much!! And Olga's practical advice with buying a sewing machine gave me the confidence to buy my own which in itself can be very overwhelming. Thanks for such great and friendly sewing classes. As the beginner, I learned a lot about a sewing machine and basic techniques. So now I can make basic clothes alterations at home without any issues.Highly recommend!!!
