Although I've not used Ali for mediation, I can tell by her phone manner that she would be an excellent mediator.

I called up to discuss a workplace dispute between 2 of my team members. It was a messy situation and I honestly thought it would escalate to the courts. The matter was resolved within 2 weeks and the 2 team members have been working well together since (about a month ago now). The manager Linda was very helpful and ensured that we all had the required information going into mediation. The mediator was obviously legally trained which I think really added value to the outcome and the process. The mediator was able to get the team members to understand the others perspective and document a plan for them to work together moving forward. Thanks Shaw. Good work

We recently had a complaint lodged internally and due to a range of circumstances we were unable to investigate internally. We engaged the SHAW team who provided us with a quality and detailed investigation report. Their investigators are highly qualified in their speciality fields so we were able to choose an investigator that matched out our field of work (mental health and disability) so they understood our industry. We didn’t just get a few words on a page, the investigator was able to pin point where the issue started and was able to upon our request make recommendations into how we could manage the matter moving forward. While I hope we don’t have matters in the future that we need Shaw for, we will contact them if we do for sure!

A Shaw mediator broke confidentiality by cc’ing everyone into a contentious email from the other party to mediation. Shaw Dispute Resolution services were terminated as a result and they were no longer permitted to engage with anyone in the company. I have seen the email referred to & confidentiality of the other party in mediation WAS breached by the mediator as the email was seen by everyone, not just the people it was sent to.The employer did state that mediation was not possible due to a Shaw mediator saying my relative was `not up to it/could not manage it' some 5-6 weeks after the relationship with Shaw had concluded - as a reason for not resolving issues.Having now got a response below, have modified the review.However, I don't believe Shaw can comment there are `multiple issues involving the family member in the workplace'. On whose evidence? It isn't appropriate and is outside a brief of the mediator. Pre conceived views like this cloud the mediators operations. The focus is to work with people presented before them and work with their issues only - not judge a situation based on `hearsay' opinions of others far removed from the individuals day to day work.
