It's a disused water tower.A good place to meet for bunch rides on Saturday mornings at 7am (and 7.15am if you're slow).

Bairnsdale Water Tower
A sure highlight of any trip to Bairnsdale, the historic water tower is the finest architectural example of mid-century utilitarianism in several hundred meters. Its beauty surpassed only by the lurid yellow toilet block on the other side of the traffic lights, and even then, barely so.It can be difficult to locate though... your best bet is to ask a local for directions. Or simply look out the car window as you pass through town on your way to your destination, which is inevitably elsewhere.
