Almost time for The Mindil Markets again! What more can you want?? Good food(so many different types to choose from), live music from local artists, have a look around the clothes & jewelry stalls and then sit on the beach with a few beers and watch the sun go down. Beautiful! Cant wait for the fireworks on opening night!

Great choice of food & trinkets.With normal market food fare available, you can also get a taste of almost every native Australian animal here. From crocodile to kangaroo, grab a kebab & eat something new!The sunset here is very popular with visitors & locals. Get something to eat/drink & find a spot on the sand to make the most of this experience.

Best sunset markets I've ever been to. If you are visiting Darwin during the dry season this is a must. Great food, market stalls, entertainment and the stunning tropical sunset. Could not ask for more.

It's loud, busy and dusty and I love it. So much street food and so many stalls selling everything from digeridoos to crocodile skins to jewellery and soaps. The highlight is crowding onto the beach with a Laksa to watch a magnificent sunset. Get there at or before 4:30pm for a car park.

A great place to enjoy the evening in Darwin. This market is only open on Thursdays & sundays from 4pm to 9pm. There are wide variety of stalls selling everything from different types of foods to paintings/arts etc. We enjoyed some freshly cut tropical jackfruit (mangoes & Jujube fruits were also available) followed by some freshly cooked Thai food. Parking appeared to be pretty tight. Finally it was time to capture the beautiful sunset... and I suppose that's why it's called the sunset market!

9to5explorer: 5* market, beach, food and people watching! Love visiting the local markets when travelling, and this one is a whole lot of fun! And why wouldn't it be? Lots of stalls, lots of people, lots of noise and lots of great food. Plus the sunset on the beach is the icing on the cake. It’s walkable from the city, and you can pass through the Botanical Gardens on the way. (about 30 minutes)

While waiting for the fireworks (July 1), i went to the sunset markets and they were beautiful. They had such a large range of products at affordable prices. I ordered pizza from one of the markets (sorry forgot the name) and that was delicious! Such a good spot to have the markets.

Mindil Beach Sunset Market Corporate Office
This is by far Darwin's biggest tourist attraction, but also popular with the locals. They have stalls with every cuisine you can think of, live entertainment and delicious fruit shakes. I was born and raised in Darwin and never get sick of going to the Mindil markets :)
