I highly recommend Lorna van Hilst Photography. I booked a studio session for my newborn which also included a maternity shoot for my family on location and I could not have been happier with the whole experience.Lorna's studio is beautiful and you feel so welcome and comfortable when you are there. She went to a lot of trouble to plan and prepare for the session, tailoring it to my baby and what I like. The props she used for my baby were absolutely stunning and there were so many beautiful items to choose from.Lorna was so amazingly patient and gentle with my baby girl and really took the time to ensure she got the perfect photo of my baby. She was also very patient with my 3 year old, taking the time to get the perfect sibling and family photo too! I never felt rushed and she was happy for me to stop and feed and do whatever I needed to do throughout the day.I couldn't be happier with the package I chose and my album and prints. The quality is amazing, they are absolutely divine and so beautifully prepared and presented.Lorna has such an eye for detail, she is truly amazing at what she does. I feel so lucky to have such amazing photos that we will treasure as a family forever.

Both her location shoot and her beautiful studio provided a comfortable and stylish setting where we could simply relax and allow the magic to happen. She demonstrated that both our baby and our toddler were in very safe hands by always making sure their needs were her top priority. Lorna did an excellent job photographing my 18 day old Son and I couldn’t have wished for anyone better. She was so incredibly gentle with him, settling him when he needed or had the hiccups, gave me time to feed him and change him when needed and made the whole experience pleasant by being friendly and engaging. She took her time and her attention to detail is amazing. The photos have turned out perfectly and the little gift box it comes in is so sweet, the welcome sign in the studio was also a nice touch. Lorna has taken photos of my 2 children as newborns, and has done a maternity/family shoot for us as well. Not only does she produce beautiful, quality photographs, but she is also organised, professional and understanding (with beautiful props!). We contacted Lorna at the last minute and she was able to fit us into her busy schedule. Right from the get go she made the experience so easy for two inexperienced and unprepared parents. Her relaxed and caring manner translated into a great experience for both parents and Bub - she was able to settle and sooth when we simply couldn’t and get him ready for our shoot and always put our minds at ease.Her studio was fantastic in terms of various props we could use, as well as her advice in guiding us through various shots and what worked best for overall shot composition.This continued straight through in the after shoot experience where she walked us through all the shots and options available to us. Overall we are delighted with both the experience and the photos and can’t wait to hang them.

Lorna was very kind to make herself available at short notice for our family dog shoot as we had been told that our little one was very ill. Our dogs quickly warmed to her and we were all very comfortable. Lorna went about her job with enthusiasm , patience and with gentle encouragement.She knew how to get the best results from all of us and we had so much fun doing it. Lorna is very creative and produced photos which beautifully captured the love we have for our dogs. We will cherish these photos forever and highly recommend Lorna to anyone wishing to photograph their dogs.

Professional. Patient. Calm. A pleasure. Lorna is the ultimate professional, there is simply no other way to put it. Our daughter was 13 days old when we visited Lorna's incredible studio and I was mesmerised at how calm, composed and patient Lorna was with our baby girl. We were in complete awe. There is so much time and effort that goes in to capturing such images and we cannot thank Lorna enough for the incredible memories she has given to us. Lorna did an amazing job. We are so happy with our photos, they are absolutely gorgeous and great memorabilia of our little one. She was welcoming and accommodating at the shoot, especially putting up with our 2 week old’s poosplosion and needing him needing a feed at the beginning. She has so many props and she put so much care and attention to detail into getting the perfect photo and it really paid off. Highly recommend!
