This vet are absolute extortionists. My cat came into the clinic less than 6 months apart and they tried to charge me $100’s of dollars extra for EXACTLY the same tests. Thankfully my partner was with me and said something, and only after he challenged it they reduced the price. I’ve spent $1,000’s of dollars at this vet and they didn’t even end up treating him! I had to take him to the vet hospital in both instances. So they were happy because they got $1,000’s from me with doing very little. Absolute joke, do not go to this vet.

Always very friendly and helpful staff. My cat attends for her annual health check and the occasional stay at the cattery.A highly recommended vet for anyone looking.

Edit:Young vet is clearly out of her depth and needs better training, was called to be told our older cat had nothing much in her blood work however it could be something else.Blatant disregard for actual care.Seems this vet is just as good as Greencross, just here to charge people and not bother with any other care.Close to $350 to be told what we already knew. The team at Summer Hill Village Vet are always so helpful and compassionate when taking care of our furr babies.Thank you for always putting our minds at ease. Sadly they haven’t put our minds at ease, rather the opposite and now will look for a new clinic.Highly recommend using this clinic for your pets if in the Inner West, avoid Greencross!

Magnifying friendly staff, friendly, bubbly and always put the animals at the centre of what they do. The whole team have worked wonderfully with our loved ones (pets/family members). They are super responsive and flexible clinic appointments.

So happy to have found such an amazing local vet. I had to wait a bit because of emergency appointments which is so expected at a vet but they were beyond apologetic and even offered me a coffee voucher to compensate - I've never had such kind treatment for having to wait. The lovely Dr. Molly met with me and my puppy Edgar. My pup was quite nervous but Dr. Molly was so sweet, patient and reassuring. I left feeling really calm and confident and am excited for our next appointment. Thank you Summer Hill Village Vet! :)

Marketing and communication, annoying upselling and poor handling of account with no online payment option presented online or in invoices, prepaid large amount because we are overseas, they do charge more than others, care is more than adequate not excellent - on balance am taking my pet elsewhere. I am sure they will continue to thrive without our custom. Recommend looking for more reasonable prices with less aggressive marketing unless this is your bag. There will be a well written response to this review. Congratulations on having excellent social media training and contractors, and poor customer service.

These guys are great. Highly reccomend. Lovely staff, will always fit us in if there is an emergency. Really thorough and attentive. They lose a star because vets in general are expensive and that sucks but they do put your pet insurance claims through too if you ask them. So, i suppose, get pet insurance? You should really have it anyway.

I can’t speak for the actual quality of the vet service but in my experience the practice is lacking compassion and understanding. We had booked an elderly cat in for vaccinations and a check up. The cat belongs to an 88 year old man who is completely housebound so the cat had had minimal treatment for the last few years. All this was explained when the appointment was made. We had to drive for almost an hour to take the cat to the check up but because we had trouble catching it we were running 12 minutes late. We had rung the vet to tell them we would be there late. When we arrived they refused to see cat because they didn’t have the full 20 minutes required for the appointment. We explained the circumstances and that we would be out of the country from next week so the cat would not get the care it urgently required but they were adamant. Having visited many vets over the years and having frequently been kept waiting the 10 minutes extra we would have needed to have our cat treated we were astonished at such a lack of concern for animal welfare. Fortunately, even though it was almost 6pm we managed to find Drummoyne vets open and when they heard we had been refused treatment at another vet they stayed back late to treat him. Clearly Summer Hill cares more about keeping to a rigid schedule than treating animalsIn reference to the recent reply. We were extremely upfront about the cats age and history when we made the appointment. We were assured, even on the day, that 20 minutes would be sufficient time. The problem evidently was that being 12 minutes late was unacceptable as the vet evidently could not run over time by 10 minutes. I prefer medical professionals who take as long as is necessary for individual patients, ( we have had some appointments for our dog take 5 minutes and some take 40) not ones who refuse treatment if you threaten to overrun their timetable . Most people understand that visiting any doctor, human or animal, is unpredictable. Im very glad we didn’t go into treatment if the vets feel compelled to rush through patients who threaten to disrupt their schedule.
