Its good to be able to go here and get quality products locally. They always have whatever I need for the random recipe i'm attempting which is once a week or so! Prices are reflective of a brick and mortar store but again its good quality in my experience and there's always something interesting on sale. I've bought more than a few things off the front tables. The service is adequate but not overly friendly. I do get pointed to the area I need but there's never any interest in what i'm buying or why. No recommendations etc... for that reason I dont tend to browse, only go for what I need and leave. Its reliable for having that culinary thing you need that other shops on the street won't have.

Possibly the worst coffee I've ever had, with snail service to compliment.The barista took over 20 minutes to make 4 coffees, that were like warm at best, tasted like the machine cleaner and were bitter beyond belief. They were undrinkable, expensive and a massive let down. Do not waste you're time here when there are incredible places down Carlisle st to get a well executed coffee that doesn't try to kill you.

Lovely shop with so many unique things for home, kitchen and even cool gift ideas. They have a sale section usually and you can get amazing bargains. They bring in new items often and you can find a wide price range so there is something for everyone

Visiting Melbourne and I stumbled upon this store.They have lovely trendy stockI bought some breakfast cereal bowls which were such good quality and so very reasonable prices.While I was there I had an amazing coffee and delicious banana bread/cake so very yummy.There is a really nice atmosphereFinally the staff were just amazing so helpful friendly cool without being intrusive.I was really impressed the owner has really got the balance right here.Wish I could have a store like this back home!

I work in Balaclava and I adore visiting this store. They’ve obviously done a bit of a business strategy update over the last few months, opening a cafe, nursery and new sale room. The thing I love about Sir John’s is not only the lovely products, but also how much they care about the customer experience. Every time I go in, I’m greeted by friendly and helpful staff. If I purchase an item I’m offered a complimentary coffee..and just the other day I went in to buy a photo frame and they professionally printed an image for the frame free of charge! It’s obvious they have taken the time to think of services they could offer to make their customers’ lives easier. I really notice and appreciate that, and it makes Balaclava a better, more friendly place. Thanks for being such a wonderful business!

Sir John's Gifts is a large store that has a great range of home goods, with original and innovative products.However, price of items are incredibly too expensive and up to the roof !!!

We are very lucky to have this shop in our local area. It is often difficult to get appliances and household goods of any quality in the area, and Sir John’s Gifts is always well stocked with a large variety of household appliances, goods and homewares. A very pleasant environment with knowledgeable and friendly staff, if I need any new kitchenware, homewares etc I always try here first before going father afield to larger homeware stores. Fortunately, I almost never need to because everything is here. Seriously, if you need new household goods and other gifts, try it – you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend it!

After a wait, asked the older lady with dark curly hair for some help finding some plastic containers for to hold food. She told me to ‘be more specific’ and ‘we’ve too many to show you’. Unhelpful and dismissive- basically turned away a sale. Disappointed at the service as I’m a local and enjoyed shopping here before, I won’t be returning again.
