My eldest daughter flew through primary school up until the end of Year 4 where she was an A and B grade student. Upon changing schools at the commencement of Year 5 her new school flagged her within the first three weeks as being in the bottom 5 in the year for literacy. This came as a complete shock and had a detrimental effect upon my daughter's wellbeing. In addition to private school fees, my husband and I decided to source tutoring as we observed that the early morning literacy classes were impacting on her confidence and self esteem. With the assistance of Liz (who came highly recommended from a friend), my daughter by the end of Year 6 was in the top english and maths class for her year and her confidence had improved dramatically. Liz was able to identify the deficiencies in my daughter's learning, fill the holes and advance her learning beyond her year. I cannot thank Liz enough for the dedication and professionalism that she has provided to my children. Interestingly enough we had our second child who was in year 4 at the time assessed by Liz, and coincidentally the same deficiencies in his learning were revealed in literacy. As a parent, I expected the teachers at my children's school to be across each of their levels of learning and to detect any deficiencies that needed rectifying, however that was not the case. Liz has not only assisted my children with their learning and improved their educational confidence but she has also instilled into them a want for learning and a wish to achieve academically. Liz is a wonderful tutor who I thoroughly recommend.
