Awesome walk through the changing landscapes on a board walk the whole way to the river. Very east stroll and lots to look at.

It was around 5.30 in the morning but I had to turnaround and come back since the mosquito level was so high. (Notice board indicated the mosquito level as medium). I didn't carry any repellent it was my mistake.

Maroochy Wetland Sanctuary
This was an impromptu visit, just to fill in a hour or so; nonetheless, we enjoyed it. The wetlands boardwalk is raised, flat & wide and about one kilometer in length, ending at a pontoon on the Maroochy River. Nature signage is helpful and we saw crabs, fish & a variety of birds. Of the latter, some colorful species darted around us as we walked along.Nearby is the entrance to McMartin's Farm. Refer to the photo for their offerings & opening times. Their farm might make your visit all the more enjoyable.

Lovely little nature walk amongst the mangroves. Mosquitos can be a problem though, so make sure to bring some repellent with you.

Amazing place. The mosquitoes are bad though. However they did supply spray on repellant. The mud crabs are fascinating, can spend ages looking at them.

So close to the suburbs & yet a world away, peaceful, preserved & such a great insight into the area ecosystem. Wheerchair /pushchair friendly. Guided tour by the volunteers was excellent.
