The Coast Restaurant
We came here for an anniversary, and it proved to be quite nice.The restaurant is not over large but is set out really well. With tables for all size groups. We remember when it was a bar before it's renovation. This is a major change, very smart.We were greeted warmly and shown our table. Our waiter explained the menu and took our orders.Started with duck croquettes and vegetable dumplings, both were very nice.Following this we had the pork belly with an apricot sauce.This was great !! She wanted to try the wombok lentils, but it was unavailable. This was the only thing not on menu.For mains we tried the kangaroo and the chicken. And shared a bowl of seasonal greens.Kangaroo was very good, lovely flavours.Chicken was nice, but some pieces were a little pink on bone for her. The greens were also very goodWe finished with a crumble and a tart to share,with coffee.Both had amazing flavours !!We had a cocktail along the way which both were very good also.Overall a nice place for a celebration.Thanks CR

That was a good moment in this restaurant for my birthday. The waiters are really professional and delicate. The food was good and the cocktails were unique.Just one thing was a bit disappointing, the airflow of the restaurant. We noticed the smell on our clothes. Except that, we really enjoyed the moment.

The waiter was absolutely fabulous, he was working by himself and managed very well. Very accommodating and the food amazing. We will definitely attend again.

I don’t give out many five star reviews but, this place was exceptional. Such a beautiful little restaurant tucked away in anglesea. This place is fine dining at it’s best. There’s a delightful outdoor decked sitting area that is very comfortable perfect for before dinner drinks. I really loved that the cocktail spirits and the wines were sourced from local businesses. I had the spiked apple pie cocktail made with timboon whiskey and it was superb. We had an 20:30 reservation and the wonderful staff had the table ready half an hour earlier. Emma was our waitress and she was fabulous. Answered every question we had and recommended some excellent drinks to go with the food. She couldn’t have been more friendly. The food was delectable. In fact, the truffle veloute was the best sauce I think I have ever had. Steak was cooked to perfection. Chicken wasn’t dry. Fish was light and flavoursome. I recommend the prawn appetizer, that was my favourite. If you passing through or staying in Anglesea, pop in. You won’t regret it. I can’t wait to come back.

The restaurant at the resort in Anglesea has improved out of this world. It delivers fine dining food in an awesome classy venue. Loved the decor and the atmosphere. Food was brilliant and drinks were delicious. I had the cured ocean trout to start and shared the banana leaf wrapped trout and the pork belly for main. Both chocolate desserts very good too. Highly recommend

The Coast Restaurant is located in Great Ocean Road Resort, Angelsea. The environment was comfortable but the food was not very pleasant. The pizza was very ordinary. The fish and chips tasted bad. The size of the fish is as big as the fries. And there were only two to three pieces of fish. It was a bad dining experience in the Coast Restaurant. The ice cream served was not nice.

Unfortunately the service was terrible, very slow and there were barely any customers there. Some people came after us and left 30 minutes before us. Plus there were like 5 waiters/waitresses who were standing around half the time while we waited forever for the food, maybe there should be more cooks and less wait staff. Staff were nice but the whole place has a creepy, cult-y vibe. Food was not that good, some dishes okay. We had the fish and it was literally just a piece of fish. No sides or anything. The gnocchi was burnt and the salted caramel tart was all salt with pastry that was in desperate need of more butter as it was rock hard and burnt honeycomb on the side. The people next to us thought the same thing, even the waiter did. You call this fine dining but ive dined better at my local shopping centre. Just disappointing to be honest especially for the price tag.

This definitely is an impressive restaurant for grown ups that appreciate fabulous food, quality decor and excellent service.Impressed by the tasteful decor the moment we entered this stylish fine dining restaurant, but that was just the beginning of the hook that will have us coming back again and again.We were greeted by staff dressed in really nice uniforms and their incredible service all night made us forget we were in coastal location, as everything about the wonderful service would have you thinking you were in a top City restaurant.The menu is concise with the focus on top quality local produce, served on stunning hand made crockery that had me wanting to keep touching the plates as they were so beautiful.We started with the best oysters and large tiger prawns we’d ever eaten as an appetiser.Following on we were delighted with Ocean Trout delicately cooked in Banana Leaf with sticky coconut rice and a mango salad. The combination of flavours and textures sang continuously in my mouth.With a slight deliberate delay to give time to savour the meal so far, we were then treated to the 12 hour Pork Belly. With dehydrated apple slices for an added WoW. There were no words that could explain how good it was.Not that we needed it, but very happy we had it, the deconstructed lemon meringue was the cherry on the top of a wonderful experience.DEFINITELY IMPRESSED and we would absolutely travel from Melbourne again and again to dine here.

Oh my goodness! We have stayed here at the resort and the meals have been outstanding! Would absolutely drive from Melbourne to eat here again. We need food like this in Melbourne please! Worth every cent . Its a lovely cosy relaxing gem of a place and very friendly helpful staff. The use of indigenous flavours made it even more interesting and unique. Looking forward to coming back for the summer menu.
