Highly recommend a visit. The place is family friendly, very easy to walk on well laid paths, and you will always see a koala (or three, or more!). If you're lucky enough to pass by the hospital window when a koala is there, you can also observe the treatment being given by the hospital staff. Well worth the visit.

I'm a carer & not only look after the koalas who are in the hospital but those who are long term residents at the sanctuary. It is the most rewarding volunteering work I've ever done.Seeing an injured koala recover enough to be released back into an area where they can continue their life, and, helping with their release gives me a warm

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this koala sanctuary, and it was truly an amazing experience. The center is dedicated to providing care for injured or sick koalas, rehabilitating them and releasing them back into their natural habitat once they are well enough to survive. Or in the case they are not able to be released, they are provided with life long care. The center has recreated a natural koala habitat where the koalas are able to thrive and recover in the best possible conditions. One of the highlights of the visit was being able to observe a koala getting an X-ray ( If I'm not mistaken ). The center has a dedicated team of professionals who take care of the koalas and provide medical attention when it is needed. The team is passionate about their work and it shows in their high level of expertise and care.Aside from witnessing the medical care provided, visitors also have an opportunity to learn about the life and behavior of koalas. The center offers educational displays and interactive exhibits that help visitors understand the importance of conservation efforts and the impact that humans have on the environment.Overall, I would highly recommend this koala sanctuary to anyone visiting Nelson Bay / Port Stephens. It is a unique and enlightening experience that offers a fascinating look into the world of these amazing animals. The center's commitment to the well-being of the koalas is truly impressive, and it is heartening to know that there are people working tirelessly to ensure a bright future for these beloved creatures.

Wonderful, caring volunteers and staff who dedicate their time to saving our precious koalas. Lots of love and care provided daily to ensure that each koala is well fed, their 'accomodation' is clean and tidy and when necessary, medical treatment is given. All with the aim for releasing back to the wild whenever possible, so that our koala numbers do not decline any further.

A great place has been established at PSKH, for the care of injured or ill Koalas and other Native Wildlife. The care is carried out by dedicated staff and volunteers who do a marvellous job from collecting gum leaf’s to organising a breading program for the sustainability of the Koalas in the Port Stephens region. Well done to all.

The koala sanctuary is a place of vital importance, dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of wounded koalas. While it's heart-wrenching to witness these injured marsupials, it's comforting to know they receive proper care and attention. A family visit to the sanctuary is highly recommended, but it's crucial to educate children about the need for quietness. Loud noises can stress the koalas, so being mindful and respectful ensures a positive experience for both visitors and these cherished creatures.

Very good. Nice place to visit. Much better to see koala in their natural habitat and also being helped by humans. Much better then a zoo. Accommodation is very nice and worth trying. Vegan friendly breakfast provided.
