The latest couple of reviews sadly dont seem to be a reflection of what its actually like as a customer here... I've been to esca several times for brunch over the last couple of years. Its always busy...if you want a table outside make sure to book ahead! The menu is great for brunch...lots of options to personalise, and they do some nice fresh juices and milkshakes. Personal favourite is the zuchini fritters .. .super fresh and delicious! Never had a bad dish here and the portion sizes are generous!

First, the coffee was good. But I have now been here a handful of times and the service has made me feel uncomfortable every time. I went back this morning because it was early and my usual cafe was not open yet. Again - amazingly unwelcoming. I ordered coffee in a takeaway cup and then sat down to wait for it. I was glared at by the owner and his offsider. Then he asked if I was sitting down to have my coffee. I said yes and then stood up to wait for it. He made some comment about the cup he was using and then appeared to talk about me to his offsider. I then sat awkwardly having my coffee. When I finished I pushed my chair in and took my empty cup to the counter and said thank you. Both of them just glared at me. Unbelievable. I overheard them discussing how they were struggling to get staff. Wonder why?? There are plenty of choices on Glebe Point Rd. I recommend walking past this one.

My son and I had breakfast at Esca on Saturday morning after a row. We were greeted by the owner, Jim, and looked after by his very capable staff. I started with an oat flat white, which without question was the best cup of coffee I've ever had. Then I ordered their leek goat cheese omlete which was fantastic! I'll let my son write his own complements but this was a wonderful breakfast with friendly service, great food and reasonable prices. We treally enjoyed ourselves.

I've been living in Glebe for about two years now and Esca has become part of my routine. Esca has a great atmosphere with a very colourful and animated waitstaff, not to mention that the food is AMAZING. Since experiencing the coffee here is has now become my gold standard of how coffee should taste, and so far I have not encountered any coffee that's better than Esca.In terms of food there is plenty of variety to choose from including vegetarian. They also provide some pre-prepared food that you can take home and cook when you're ready to eat, which is extremely helpful when you don't know what to make for dinner or when you can't be bothered going shopping for ingredients. I would highly recommend Esca for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner

Had a great brunch here. Good Campos coffee. Delicious food. Friendly service. Family friendly and some tasty looking cakes in the cabinet. Baked Tuscan eggs were a highlight and our kids devoured the french toast.

We started going here regularly (once a week) during the last few months on our weekend walk(s) and love this place. The staff are always helpful and food is top quality. The menu has awesome options too (We keep meaning to go back for lunch/dinner). It's one of those places where you feel like they are happy to have you there. I know that sounds silly, but it's a thing. Really good spot, highly recommended!!
