Chern'ee is the warmth and guiding light in our Indigenous Flag and a Star on our Australian Flag - Such an infinitus affinity with colour, balance and story with collaborative intent. Chern'ee's true heart visions captured on canvas and story is just amazing. She is definitely at one with art, nature, life, love, land, spirit, sanctity with collaborative purpose and understanding. We commissioned a painting by Chern’ee recently and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an inspirational, personalised piece of art for their home. One of my responsibilities, as one of the four Trustees of the Queensland Teachers' Union, is to search and purchase appropriate artwork for the Union's biennial GA Daughtrey Art Bequest. In 2019, we became of the young indigenous female artist, Ms Cher'nee Sutton. The Trustees examined a variety of her artwork and were impressed with the way in which it is based on ancient indigenous custom and art style, but painted in a very striking contemporary style. We felt it expressed very well an optimistic perspective of a young indigenous artist and so was no surprise that her artwork is attracting the attention of international collectors and the 'corporate world'. It was a pleasure to meet with Ms Sutton and discuss purchase of artwork. Her courteous, clear-thinking and co-operative manner made the interaction a pleasure. Ms Sutton is a proud product of the Queensland public education system, having attended both public primary and secondary schools, which fostered her love and skill in painting. Ms Sutton's artwork is promoted through an excellent website, which makes the review and purchase of artwork a trouble-free and easy experience.
