Ivanhoe Cycles Hallam

Quite possibly the rudest customer service I have ever experienced. Been here multiple times because it’s close by and every time I think it might be a different experience and it was just a one off rude person, I’m wrong. The people who work here are incredibly blunt and make no effort to help you find a product. I once called to ask if they would be ordering in a new model of bike, the person responded with just “no” and hung up. Another time I asked for help to purchase bibs for the first time, I was told to look in the back area generally, where there was a mess of shorts, with genders mixed up and sizes not in order.

This is the closest bike store to my house so thought I'd go have a look. I'm somewhat new to cycling so needed quite a few accessories for my bike aswell as clothing such as a jersey and knicks. It is a massive store and they have good options however not even one staff member welcomed me or asked if i needed assistance. They just chatted amongst themselves. It felt as if i was a burden being there. Got really bad vibes so i left feeling fairly upset as customer service was non existant. Drove down to berwick cycles instead where i was greeted with a smile instantly and helped out. Read some other reviews where people have mentioned the customer service is appaulling also. Sorry about the negative review but i have to be honest so that hopefully it improves in the future.

The staff at Ivanhoe cycles are great, my only issue with the Hallam store is myself as a wheelchair user I was unable to access the store, so I had to go to the workshop entrance where I was advised to use the front entry , I then advised them that I was unable to access the store as they don’t have wheelchair access , when I told them that I needed to get a puncture fixed on my wheelchair and I told them it was just a bicycle tube in the tyre they were more than happy to assist me. I do believe the access issues were down to a lack of knowledge by the city of Casey or the architect who Waa commissioned to the job fit out.Mind you I don’t know how city of Casey e how city of Casey every ever granted a certificate of occupancy on the entire surrounding complex as the complex as a whole appears to be affected as a whole by the same issue.

ordered items for click and collect and got email confirmation but didn't get any replies that order is ready for collection. emailed them to inquire about status but got no reply.Got my refund easy...this is a brick and mortar store not up to date dealing with online transactions

My experience here was absolutely wonderfulI wanted to do some repairs on my sons push bike and I went looking around and found this guys can do repairs much faster (didn’t have to wait for weeks) and do have to say cheaper!! than other shops we have experiencedThank you guys you have done absolutely wonderful job

This review is based on my experience from a few years ago when I spent over $400 on what I thought was 2 good quality scooters for my kids. However, the brake snapped off both of them within a few months.When it happened the first time, they said they would repair the scooter for free. So I dropped it off in the morning and was told it would be ready after a few hours. I hung around the area for most of the day but received no phone call so I went back in to see if it was ready. I was spoken to very rudely by someone else and the scooter was still waiting to be repaired. It took them a week to fix it, so why not just say that from the start instead of wasting my time?When the second scooter broke a month or so later, I rang the shop again and they basically accused my kids of being rough with the scooters and said it was our fault. So I didn’t bother going back for repairs a second time and it went on the hard rubbish.I then bought 2 new scooters from somewhere else, much better quality and cheaper. They have lasted for several years with no issues and I wish I had bought these replacement scooters in the first place, instead of wasting my money.I do not recommend Ivanhoe Cycles due to them selling overpriced rubbish, being rude to customers and their poor after sales service.

Went into Hallam store to purchase bike for my daughter. Matthew served me, provided amazing customer service and advice. An asset to the Ivanhoe cycles team for sure!
