Shingle Inn Strathpine
Absolutely one of the worst places you could go to if you visit Strathpine Centre. The guy that works there is next level Fawlty Towers style rude to customers. Witnessed a horrendous incident recently where he abused two older patrons and literally told them to p*** off when they alerted him to a fly in the food cabinet. Disgraceful doesn’t come close to how he spoke. Do yourself a favour and go to Molly’s or Coffee Club. Head Office need to act fast if they have any interest in saving any goodwill left towards this business.

Horrible. I ordered a salad sandwich no butter on wholemeal no tomato. What was delivered was sandwich on white bread. Before I even looked at meal she left and went back into kitchen. I advised the male person when he had finished serving a customer that I could not eat white bread &had ordered wholemeal. He just turned his back &started getting the order for the other customer & just ignored me so I couldn't even get it remade or get a refund So I just walked out.Would never go there again.

Disgusting customer service.Owner is rude and arrogant.Attempted to buy a coffee after waiting for 2 minutes at counter with zero acknowledgment.Ordered coffe eventually when served, quoted $5.70, paid by DEBIT card not CREDIT card and a surcharge applied.When i challenged the surcharge the arrogant owner turned to me and was told dont complain in an in your face aggresive manner.Cancelled coffee and requested refunded, at that point the hidden surcharge small sign at a 90 degree angle to the eftpos keypad was then flicked around by him when he refunded my money.Atrotious disgusting non customer service.Will NEVER order from a Shingle Inn cafe again out of principle.This guy has zero idea on running a business!!!

Pleased with my ice coffee and scone . Service good , but the furniture looks like it's never been cleaned and the dust between the cushions is a bigger feature than the pattern.

Rudest manager I have ever come across. Incredibly rude to staff and customers. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.I accidentally asked for a dirty chai instead of a cold chai and when I asked for ice to be added, I was chastised by the manager, told it was my fault. THE staff member was spoken to incredibly rudely and told to only give me what I ordered. When I asked what the harm was in adding ice to my drink, I was then refused and a refund was given. So incredibly rude and disrespectful. I will never ever be going back there again. The entire interaction was absolutely disgusting. I have never had a manager of a cafe or restaurant get so in my face in a boarder-line threatening way. I am left dumbfounded and disgusted by the behaviour exhibited. It was a hostile experience. No one should ever be spoken to like that regardless of the request. But just to add ice to a drink? Absolutely disgusting behaviour!!!!

Wanted to give Shingle Inn Strathpine my business as they looked so much quieter than Coffee Club Strathpine … I see why, customer service at Shingle Inn was non existent and when I quietly mentioned he was not making me feel very welcome he threw cash on the table and told me it was a refund. Not the I wanted a refund, just a coffee and to be treated like a human. The woman next to me commented she also felt unwelcome.The service from Coffee Club Strathpine on the other hand was superb.Sorry Shingle Inn Strathpine, I’d planned on booking you out for a corporate high tea … that WON’T be happening!

Rude owner. I went in to order coffee and something to eat, ordered a brownie while pointing to the brownie in the cabinet. The female owner brought it out to the table and while deep in conversation I put my spoon through the brownie that I got but realised it was the wrong one. I had pointed to the salted caramel brownie and got given a fudge brownie which is different texture, looked really rich etc. I didn’t taste it at all because it didn’t look to my taste. I took it back into the counter and politely said that I got the wrong one. The female owner got her back up and argued with me that both are brownies and I should have specifically stated the salted caramel brownie, not just “brownie”. I told her that I had no idea there was another brownie in the cabinet and I was pointing to the one I wanted. She wouldn’t have a bar of it. I put my plate back up on the counter and walked out shaking my head. sat back down and waited for my coffee with my mum and decided to never go back. I’m at the shopping centre daily. I saw the owners talking to each other behind the counter and finally the male owner brought the correct brownie out. The female could have done that and apologised for being so rude to begin with. I’m glad they saw sense. But the damage is done. Maybe get the female to make the coffees and the male to serve customers because she is terrible.

Shingle Inn Strathpine
We heard yesterday that the Shingle Inn at Strathpine had changed management (we were excited to hear that because the previous managers were rude). We felt welcomed when we went for coffee there this morning and the female manager apologised if our coffees would be late as today was their first day. Everyone has to learn. The service was awesome and the coffees weren’t bad. We appreciate they are learning. It was lovely to see smiling management and staff. We wish them all the very best with their business and I’mSure they will do very well. We look forward to going there again soon
