Budget Car & Truck Rental (Head Office)

Recently collected a car from Sydney airport, was told to check the car for major damage only" as small chips and dent were consider "fair wear and tear". After having the car a few days when I went out in the morning a crack had appeared in the windscreen. Nothing had hit the windscreen whilst I had the car so can only assume the chip in the windscreen had already been there. Ive had to change the car over (ended up with a car smaller than what I had booked

Rent from anywhere else except this company, overpay but just avoid these horrible renterns. One of the most horrible customer experience we had in our life. We overpaid, did not receive the services we paid for and we wrote a written complaint stating everything to which no one replyed :))) pushed the complaint multiple times but they do not care. The amount on the invoice does not match the amount we were debited and we paid for the additional driver twice! Ignoring us for months. I have no clue how is this possible even in 21st century..

Be very careful of this company!My original booking was done online which stated total cost was AUD224.97Upon arrival and collecting car at the airport counter, I was told to upgrade from a normal Nissam Pulsar to a SUV because of snow condition.I was told by the counter staff that the cost of upgrading is much cheaper compared to renting chain. I later found out that this was not true. I ended up paying AUD987.2 which is far more than my original booking and the breakdown of cost was not clear with a lot of hidden cost not being explained to me.Very disappointed and hope Budget car rental will not do this to other customer again.

Avoid this company at all costs.Firstly, it's interesting how if you call their reservations line you can get straight through to someone, BUT if you call their customer service help line you are on hold for an unbelievable amount of time. Essentially what they are saying is that they are happy to take your money, other than that they don't really want to know you.My partner hired a van for 1 week and Budget placed a hold on the full $850+ on our credit card. When we dropped the van off again, they took another $850+ from our card. So total amount that Budget Rent a Car Australia have taken is currently $1700+. Why did they need to take the amount twice? Surely the original amount (placed on hold) could've just been taken once we dropped the car back? Why the need to draw another full amount? We called the customer service line yesterday and (after eventually getting through) the operator said they would request a release from CBA and it would take a few hours... 24hrs later, nothing... we called the reservations line (got through straight away) and got told to call customer service... spoke to them and they said it could take up to ten days to release the funds (It had been 14 days since we returned the van)... the operator also said the request to release should've been done when we dropped the car off. Which it clearly wasn't. The operator then told us we should call our bank to get them to release it... why should we chase our bank because of Budget's sheer ineptitude? All this stuffing around and wasting time because of this completely hopeless company.Frankly, the current CEO should be sacked immediately.Lastly, the van wasn't really that cheap to hire, so how they can justify calling themselves Budget is beyond me!P.S, it's pretty obvious why they operate like this, they collect the interest on the extra money they hold. Not just mine, but imagine all the clients they have worldwide... millions of customers yearly... what a rort!!!!

Literally the worst place to hire anything.I gave them a call and a lady tried helping me out and I was wanting quotes for a van/truck hire. She was extremely pushy and adamant to have me place a $400+ reservation holding fee when I specifically told her that I needed quotes as I'm not exactly sure when I need to truck/van hire. She kept asking me what's holding me back on placing a holding fee. The way she kept trying to push me on having me place a reservation fee was extremely unprofessional and unsettling and definitely made me feel uncomfortable.Absolutely disgusting. More training needs to be put in place.

Hi,Booking No. 32078749I have completed my holidays in Tasmania where I booked for the vehicle under the above booking number through Budget's agent Cheapoair.Please be advised that upon booking for the above vehicle on Dec 18th and amount of AUD134.01 was chargedto my credit card. Is this amount not refundable when I make payment upon collecting the car?I was denied of the deduction of AUD134.01 as the person manning the counter at Budget, Hobart Airport, being the vehicle provider says they have nothing doing with Cheapoair.I was made to pay in full the amount of AUD799.76.According to the booking invoice, I was supposed to pay an estimated total of $796.64Less amount charged at booking: -$134.01Amount Payable at Rental Desk was estimated= $662.63Can you kindly explain as I feel that I have ended up paying more than what is expected if I were to book through Budget's agent - Cheapoair!** And for your information, I have written 3 emails to Cheapoair without getting a reply. I hope I do get a response to sort this out.Kindly advise .

Budget will charge ARBITRARY FEES on credit card after returned car.1. Even we refilled tank to full on return, still got charged $28.22 for petrol (no one checked car on return, and later they said it's 6L short, so they charged $4.7 per Litre... it must be golden petrol)2. Charged us $35 for airport parking, which was not communicated on picking up or in initial quotation.3. our initial quotation for one day hire of a small hatchback car is $119.70, ended up paying $206!please DO NOT USE BUDGET!!! this is a company on the edge of bankrupt, so they started to charge credit card for all excuses afterwards without even notify the card owner.

0 stars if it was possible.Never use again.Was told when collecting rental car there would be a $400 'holding fee', which is fine. But my account was debited the $400 plus the rental amount as the 'holding fee'. The next day my account was also debited the rental fee. This overdrew my bank account.It's a scam, so they can make some bank interest for the duration of the holding period (7 to 10 working days! in 2022!) from the additional money they take from us.

I had paid $693.00 for my 21 day hire. Paid this on Monday in full and now today have been charged another $699.00 to my credit card!!! Why and I will be taking this further if the funds arnt returned to my bank account. The staff at surfers paradise are rude abrupt and not nice to would have been potential long term customer. Will never hire threw budget again. Neither will my family or friends after I've told them I've been charged over $1400 for 21 days
