Visited today ( from Brisbane ) with a friend from the Gold Coast. We are birders. What a wonderful facility. The Byron Bay council has done an excellent job turning the old sewerage ponds and the areas around them into bird and animal habitat, with easy paths and a picnic shelter. You have to be with someone who has a key to gain entry, and a kitchen and toilet are available as well. Definitely worthwhile arranging a visit if you are a birder or a person who enjoys nature.An excellent model for other Councils to follow. Well done Byron Bay Council.
