The Aboriginal Art House

Felt comfortable as soon as I walked in. Paintings were awesome. Got a couple of lovely small prints of children being taught lessons by elder, and riding bikes in the red earth. Thank you David for your friendly and passionate yarns.

Fantastic place to spend time, browse around and purchase some wonderful artwork. I bought some lovely cushion covers and some wonderful prints to frame up when I get home. The lady in the shop was very helpful and it was a lovely experience on a rainy, cold day in Hahndorf. Highly recommend you visit.

Beautiful artworks :) worth a look even if you don’t buy. Traditional artworks from genuine Aboriginal artists. There’s canvas works and photo prints and painted rocks.Pricey but worth it :) the rocks make a lovely souvenir and are cheap for what they are. Price range on artworks various from about $200-$8,900. Various sizes and colours.There’s also a couple of books by Aboriginal authors with stories about the Dreamtime for $30. They’re very interesting and completely worth the price.Spacious area and has souvenirs with the artworks on them. Staff were busy with something else so she didn’t talk to anyone, just gave a warm smile and a nod.Would definitely visit again for the art :)*not allowed to take photos inside.

The artwork displayed here is stunning! If I had the money I would buy it all.The person serving was great. He was able to give an insight into the paintings as well as showing other ways to buy them.Well worth a visit.

There are some beautiful pieces of art here. The pieces are unique and some are captivating. I think it is worth visiting the store as a minimum if you are in Hahndorf.We are looking at buying a couple of pieces.

Love their arts and the owner welcomed everyone and happy to explain the arts.Purchased one art and it was only $10 came with a flame. It’s very affordable!Must stop by and take a look inside!

Traditional and modern aboriginal paintings, so you could have a good range of earthy tones or more colourful tones depending on your decore. I liked that the artists had a written story attached to the back telling of the meaning of each painting. They also had boomerangs and wooden carvings depicting aboriginal way of life. The woman serving in the shop was quite knowledgeable and very friendly.

My faviourte part of my visit to Hahndorf, Linda was wonderful and spent time explaining the stories behind different artworks. I even ended up with a beautiful piece of art by the very talented David Booth.

Located on the main street of Hahndorf it is a retail outlet and gallery for fresh, exciting and quality aboriginal art. At the moment it is only open for a few days a week (Thursday and Friday) but you can make an appointment with the owner, Daniel Becker, to view the artworks.Daniel provides a qualified understanding of the various artists’ and their respective cultures. He is passionate and respectful of these unique indigenous artworks. The pieces in the gallery range from hundreds to thousands of dollars. We found a perfect piece to add to our collection and would recommend anyone in the area to take the time and visit the Aboriginal Art House when you're in Hahndorf.
