Elephant Rock

Thanks to other Google user's advise, I don't have too much trouble to find this place. To use Google map for directions, just mark the destination on the closest point to the Elephant Rock's map icon on Patonga Dr, the GPS will take you to the pathway entrance where only two roadside parking spaces with uneven ground surface. The pathway is narrow but only short walk to the Rock. Little rock climbing needed at end but not difficult for me. There are few other walking trails to this place as well but this is the shortest way. If you are here for second sunset like me, try to remember your way back in dark.I was there on Easter Sunday and felt so lucky to see a beautiful second sunset...

A great natural viewing point for Sunsets. The beauty of the area is the natural bush track that requires a certain degree of fitness to walk up the hill over rocks on a narrow bush trail where you see Some beautiful Sydney sandstone Native flora to view along the way.

Fantastic lookout, only 10 minutes walk!

Amazing views of surrounding waterways, beaches, bushland and a great view of Patonga. Less than 5 minutes up the little path but can be steep!

A hidden spot with magnificent view. The rock formation made you feel like you are on the back of an elephant with a bird's- eye view, real amazing. Beautiful wide view captured Palm Beach view and Patonga Beach view. Great place, love it.

Amazing place. A bit difficult to spot the entrance. Is a small path off the highway. You cannot really see it. Just follow google maps and park your car where it says you’ve arrived. You will find a yellow post near the side of the road which will lead you to a path around 200 meters or so. Then there is a bit of rocks which need climbing. You don’t need to be in great shape to climb. It’s pretty easy. Then the view is breathtaking.

Nice hidden spot, limited parking and steep rocky platform

The view is awesome, and the rock at the top is crazy, the track you walk up is not much of a track, so be prepared for plenty of branches I. Your face, and possibly not finding your way down in the dark. Parking is a bit special, it’s a relatively narrow winding road with a tiny space on the side for maybe 2 cars.

A bit hard to find but that’s probably why it’s always quiet here. Excellent views of Patonga and Brisbane Waters. It’s always windy here though, so bring warm clothes.
