Healesville Outdoor Pool

The review saying that it is green is silly. It is a seasonal pool, and therefore only open for 3 months of a year. To keep it clean throughout the year while it isn't being used would be silly and a complete waste of money. Pools need to have water in them, or else they crack and warp. Every year before it is opened again they empty it, and refill it with clean water. This has been going on for decades, so I am not sure why the person who says they see it in complete disrepair is coming from, at all. The pool is only open from late Nov to early March, it is too cold the rest of the year as it is an outdoor unheated pool. The pool is an older style, but it is really nice, especially when there are no teens around, or you have it to yourself. There are plenty of shaded areas, and also a toddler pool. It has a nice feel to it, even with it's older style buildings etc. It is also quite cheap. I would totally recommend this pool to people who want to cool off on a hot day. If you want to go somewhere warmer on colder days, there is also the Healesville indoor pool, which is open all year round. However, I believe that Healesville really needs a whole aquatic centre with a spa and hydro pool, as we have a lot of elderly people here, and also people who need hydro therapy, and the closest one is Croydon! I need hydrotherapy.. and it has been a major set back in my recovery.

the outdoor pool is not in use at the moment. it is unclean and unkept. maybe it'll be clean in summer season.. the park around is brilliant though...

great area to take the kids on a hot day. with great shade on grassy slopes and reasonably priced. Take a lunch as the canteen only offers cold drinks, sweets and ice creams. No coffee is served. Unique feature is that the toilets are open to the sky.

Great for the few months of summer when open. Wish they would heat it and open year round.

Awesome outdoor pool on a warm summer’s day. The deep end is really deep and you can dive and bomb and have fun! Life guards were awesome too-not over the top like at some pools. They instruct the kids in a fun manner if they do the wrong thing rather than yelling/scolding.

Sorry to say, I have seen this Olympic Swimming Pool" in disrepair and with green water in it for too long. They are about to start restoration works

Don't have fun because the life guards will kick you out, not worth the hassle

Looks like a nice outdoor pool but needs an upgrade I think from looking from the outside. Haven’t been in there for a swim but looks like it hasn’t been open for a while looking at it from that way.Otherwise I think it would be awesome to cool down in the hot summer days.

Loved it! Evoking memories of growing up and going to the local outdoor pool in hot summer days. Grass to lie on, trees for shade. Main pool plus baby and younger children's pools. Cafe for an ice-cream or hot chips. Very affordable- $14 full price for one adult and three children. Concession available.
