Broken River Visitor Information Centre
Basic but quiet place and friendly volunteer staff. It's like the platypuses came out on queue! Two of them. It's early Aug. and we're told it was mating season. Maybe I've been lucky as I've only been here a few times over the years but this location always seems to deliver on the platypus viewing.

Great place to see platypus from viewing platform nearby information centre. Watch for the bubbles in the river to see the platypus!! And be very quiet

Broken River Visitor Information Centre
Beautiful spot to walking in a tropical forest along the river. It is inhabited by turtles and platypus

Broken River Visitor Information Centre
We saw the Platypus from the viewing platform next to the visitor information centre. Some of the walking trails are less frequented and have overgrown with shrubs. It was still worth the trip out to see the platypus.

It was closed but has toilets and info sheets. We saw a platypus!

Was really cool to see Platypus in the wild, we really enjoyed our visit here, there's camping both sides of the river, we stayed at the Flat Ferns camping area up past the information centre and it had cool secluded camp sites with fire pits so bring your own wood!

Average coffee, Terrible service!Took the coffee's back and was argued with about how good the coffee was by the shop assistant/owner. Also tried the home made ice cream which was simply frozen, flavoured milk and they charged a premium for the pleasure. AVOID!!!

We stayed at Broken River Camp Grounds, great location right next to the river, could easily see the platypus in the creek, good bush walks, kiosk serving coffee and cakes, ext, only 5 klm from town of Eungella

We saw 2 platypi playing around from the viewing platform to the left of the information centre. It was an easy walk.

Broken River Visitor Information Centre
Saw lots of Platypus! They recommend to come early in the morning (4-8am) or late afternoon (3-7pm). We arrived at 2:30 pm and only saw one Platypus and nothing for a while after that. Went for a walk and came back around 3pm and sure enough, heaps of sightings. Just be patient and watch for the bubbles on the water. Follow @lapwithnomap and check out the reel we did.
