We had the privilege and the pleasure to engage Serina Thompson for 2 years as our family lawyer through an extremely difficult separation case involving our daughter. From beginning to end she was encouraging and friendly gently guiding us through the traumatic elements of our case, giving us advice when needed and a shoulder to cry on, on many occasions.Serina gives above and beyond what any lawyer I have ever encountered or heard of before. I had been in and out of family court over 4 years, my first court appearance with Madeline de Leo from Thompson Family Lawyers in 2020 made more constructive progress towards regular contact with my two children then any prior appearance over the years with my past 3 lawyers and as more appearances came up each always felt successful, Independent children's lawyer appointed, expert witness, court ordered drug tests and more all applied pressure to her to adhere to the consent orders. The whole team were always very friendly and professional.Serina Thomson represented me in my child related proceedings which ultimately ended a little over a month prior to an expedited trial. Without ever even having had a DR Conference (mediation event) final orders were agreed by consent between the respondent mother and myself.Obviously, one cannot reveal specific details of such a case. Vexatious allegations were made about myself, in response to my initial filing to court. Allegations made in order to restrict access between my then 6 month old baby and myself.In contemporary society, if allegations are made about a man then almost all people will presume him guilty without trial. Thankfully, Serina is balanced, professional and discerning.Serina was not the first solicitor who represented me in the proceedings. Indeed, there were times that I had no choice but to self-represent.Serina’s advice, counsel and representation were significant factors in the matter resolving the way it ultimately did.
