Dead Horse Gap
I imagine this wouldn't normally be much of a site, however 10cm of snow had just fallen, enough to build a 5' snowman.

Great place for families and kids, lots of room for all your snowy fun.Minus all the busy skiers and what not at the Thredbo Village! You can cross the road (be careful with traffic) and climb up the hill, toboggan down (dont end up on the road as you come down) also walk through through the open space just past the parking area, looks like you could walk around down there through the trees and open space. There were a couple of families when I was there. Enough space to do your own thing.

Lovely views from the top of range. A good place to stop and soak in some clean mountain air.

Solid ride either from east or west. Very popular with local riders, visitors and training squads. Go earlier in the morning to minimise bush-fly/ horse-fly nuisance. Plus great views.

We took a driving holiday through Alpine way. Dead Horse gap is a great place to stop. Plenty of snow and we had plenty of snow to play in.

We come here so the kids can play in the snow, it's always quiet, no swarms of tourists to deal with. There was no snow at perisher but plenty at this spot. The kids loved it.This is our regular go to spot.
