Great experience getting some tuition on a new canoe. We booked in a few hours of training to bring us up to speed on the basics of paddling - and all totally worth it. We've been able to put the skills we learnt to practice and it has made all the difference in our enjoyment of our canoe.The training was well structured and pitched to our level, with excellent assessment of our skills (or lack thereof) and going through the things we really needed to know.Thanks!

Called at lunch for an afternoon booking. Dan the canoe man was super helpful and was down at the river in 30 mins with 2 canoes for us to hire. We ended up only needing one as it was spacious and we paddled around all afternoon spotting wildlife. Weather was a bit iffy but Dan had checked the radar and let us know what to expect and he was right. Perfect day out and Dan was super helpful. Thanks for a good day!

I hired a Wenonah Solo Prism for an overnight canoeing trip in Kangaroo Valley. It has a simple sleek design, comfy seat, is light enough for me to lift on my own, loads of gear carrying capacity. I am so impressed by the way it handles… it just glides through the water. Such a pleasure to paddle! The online booking process was quick and easy, and service was faultless. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We had the most amazing abseiling and canoeing adventure with Valley Outdoors! The staff were very in tune to the different level of experience in our group and were great teachers! Kangaroo Valley is a gorgeous spot and I felt very lucky to have guides who knew the area so well and were clearly professionals in the outdoor field. So keen to come back for another adventure!

Best adventure company in Kangaroo Valley. Hired out a couple of canoes for the long weekend and received exceptional service, great advice on where to paddle and camp and all the equipment provided was modern and worked well. Will definately be back in the future!

Our family group of 13 had a fantastic canoe trip down the Kangaroo River with Dan as our guide. Quality gear. Thoughtful touches like hot choccies for the kids at the end of our day! Dan was so considerate and helpful - what an asset to Valley Outdoors.

I was looking for a canoe to paddle long distances over open ocean, but where to start? I then came across Paddle and Portage (Valley Outdoors) and emailed Travis Frenay. Travis took the time to reply and even call me. He was a wealth of information and based on some great advice and insights we ordered the Wenonah Itasca. Upon picking up the canoe I was taken back with the quality, no joke, the canoe was a work of art. This canoe is such a pleasure to paddle, it is fast yet stable.So my paddling experience is in kayaks and haven’t paddled a canoe previously. I subsequently underwent some training with Dan. This training consisted of deep water self rescue, hit and switch paddling, J stroke, ferrying, to name just a few. I help train people in a policing environment and can say Dan is a very good communicator and demonstrated things very well. As a result I left with a good base of skills to work on and develop with our training. We would not have been able to achieve our goals without all the assistance and valuable advice we received from the staff at Valley Outdoors. Very highly recommended.
