They make their own range of gourmet condiments, which they use in their dishes (tomato relish - yum) and they are able to accommodate dietary requirements (GF, DF, vegetarian). X

OH NO!Blue Kitchen at Windmill Grove Complex sounds romantic, sort of....My friend John mentioned this lil eatery might be worth a look in.Initially the place looked warm and cosy, well, in a concrete bunker sort of way.Nevertheless with high hopes, I ordered up my brekky.I don't know what was happening that day, but the coffee mediocre and the scrambled eggs leathery, the bacon, so over cooked to be un-chewable. Please, let the customers put the salt on Mr Cook. Oh, John was wrong.On a positive note, the younger staff were friendly and attentive, whereas the proprietor lady could not stop talking, telling me to bring my friends along and there was this rock band, truly, I couldn't help yawning and she talking :-)I wish these folk well in their business, but feel for their customers. Being at the back of a warehouse complex and with no views whatsoever, and really nothing to promote the place, not even decent cooking, I have my doubts.The place just completely lacks inspiration, good coffee or even food I have tried and could recommend, I mean who can ruin scrambled eggs and bacon on toast?Sorry guys but I can't give you more than one star, that is all you have earned.I must be honest to my Google review readers. Maybe it was a bad hair day, I will drop by again and give them a chance to redeem themselves, later on. :-)

This little cafe is tucked away at the edge of a large industrial concrete car park, right next to the toilets, which you can smell if you eat outside. This is fairly revolting and detracts immensely from the ambiance. During winter no sunny spots are provided to sit in.The staff are friendly enough, and the food is good and served at the table.The coffee is reasonable, though sadly not hot, the pricing is quite high for being in an industrial hardware and concrete.PS After I posted my two star review, both owners came out and scolded me for posting a less than glowing review.Sheesh I had come back following the two star review, to spend another twenty bucks, out of loyalty. The bloke said I was 'wrong' and the lady said that if people don't like the place, they can 'f##k off. I was amazed and horrified. I ate and left never to return

The gentleman owner of this establishment would have to be the most rudest, obnoxious pig to ever grace the food service industry. It's a shame that such a nice little cafe tucked away from the hustle and bustle is run by such a horrible arrogant person.*edit* In light of the response of which is obviously the owner fabricating wild claims about abusiveness towards staff I feel it necessary to elaborate on my encounter at Blue Kitchen. All of the staff which I have encountered at Blue Kitchen were lovely including Francine the partner and co-owner etc. I asked politely if a sauce which agree with me ( due to food allergies ) be left of an item. The staff were sympathetic and apologised that they couldn't modify any items on the menu and all menu items had to be ordered as stated. Although I found this to be unusual. I accepted the outcome and was exiting when the male owner remarked if I didn't like what was on the menu not to bother coming to their establishment which had a few expletives thrown in for good measure. Given the other negative reviews both here and on Tripadvisor is has become apparent to me that this gentleman has a serious attitude problem and it is no wonder that his admiration for the porcine species is unusually high. I may like to add to his glowing comments of adoration regarding the porcine species. Pigs that are introduced to a foreign environment very quickly turn feral. They live and breed in filth and as time goes by they wreak havoc on the native flora ad fauna of those environments. You sir are like one of your beloved porcine that has been introduced to an environment to which you don't belong. If you have trouble expediting a food order with a simple modification perhaps a working kitchen is not the best place for you. If someones request to have no sauce on her food item is enough for you to come out of your kitchen and swear at them, then once again sir perhaps food service is not the industry for you. Just like your porcine friends you admire so much you and your behaviour will ruin the very environment you introduced yourself into. Perhaps it's best you leave the running of your business to Francine and the cooking and food prep to someone that can actually cook and expedite a food order without having a meltdown at the most minor of variation requests. I stand by my comments your a Pig and if Francine isn't unable to reign you in you will most certainly ruin the environment that your currently inhabiting. As for your complete fabrication about abuse of staff and patrons I have no idea what fantasy you plucked that from as I stated all the staff were sympathetic asides from you and the patrons I was visiting your establishment with were witness your obnoxious attack. I will be showing them your fanciful response. It is as amusing as it is both desperate and sad. A grown man has to resort to lies and fantasy to reconcile their foul behavior. Word of mouth is already getting around about you. You know what they say 12 people tell 12 people and those 12 go on to tell another 12 people. It's only a matter of time your disgusting attitude and behaviour ruin yours and more sadly Francines's food dream.

The chef is beyond rude. He has no people skills and dosnt value his customers, always seems under the pump and stressed when there is only limited tables. The location is laking scenery, they must of found the only part of the northern rivers without a tree, hills or any sort of view insight, food is average.

Poor location, too noisy, food overpriced, long wait times, little to no parking in the weekday, cluttered rubbish all around the cafe. Someone hasn't grown up and loves collecting little kids toys for display. Plenty of better/classier options in the CBD.

Great food and coffee. Best Cornish pasty this side of Cornwall. Funky display of rock and roll memorabilia. Well worth a visit.
