Ruster's Reserve includes the historic swimming hole at Redland Bay. Down the steps and a few metres along the beach is the netted swimming area used by locals for decades. Overlooked by ancient fig trees this is a great spot for all the family. Further down the street is the marina including well known local Cafe.

Ruster's Reserve
Ruster's Reserve is a beach picnic area featuring a netted swimming enclosure for high-tide use. The Reserve is quite historic, having been set up generations ago by the Ruster family, a well-known clan of Redland Bay fishermen who lived nearby. The Rusters were a sociable family who hosted weekend getogethers that were legendary -- beach parties with plenty of food, good cheer and swimming in the hot weather. The mature Moreton Bay fig trees that give shade over the beach were probably planted by the Rusters for that purpose. The pylons of that hold up the net are often used as perches for the local pelicans. This adds to the charm -- recommended for a visit. Note, there are no toilets at the Reserve, though there are some 200m North at the boatramp.

Ruster's Reserve
Nice quiet boat ramp with public toilets right there that are clean and tidy well maintained. Just watch out if going in our out at low the end of boat ramp is very muddy
