Lake Waranga Caravan Park
Can handle the uncomfortable bed and lounge that needed to be thrown away 10 years ago. Can't handle the dirty state the cabin was in. Dishes were all unclean, floors dirty, spider's everywhere. I was surprised to see the ceiling fan still up considering the amount of dust and gunk on the blades.Definitely don't look at the aircon.Check out the best before date on the complementary coffee. Shame really.

The actual lake is lovely and great for boating and swimming. The caravan park is in a prime position and it was lovely to be able to walk to the lake with a drink and sit and watch the water. The public bathrooms were clean and smelled nice. However..... the cabins were awful. They were set up for 4 humans but 2 of the humans need to be children as the bunk beds are too short, the room was basically a cupboard with beds, our room had only a double bed and even my feet hung off the end and I'm not overly tall, it also contained the bathroom, in fact, the bedroom was the bathroom, the toilet thankfully had a door but it was situated at the head of the bed and the shower opened onto the bedroom and you stepped out onto carpet. I sent the boys to use the shower and toilet block. The water pressure was terrible so it took ages to wash my hair. There was no soap or dishwashing liquid. The dishes had not been checked and l had to wash them, we bought dishwashing liquid. The kettle was so disgusting l boiled my water in a saucepan, the cleaner had also not emptied the water out of it from the previous occupants. There were only 3 spoons for a 4 bed cabin. No fans, there was an air conditioner but we were too scared to use it as it probably had never had the filter cleaned. There was carpet, carpet is awful in a cabin, especially one that is close to water and swimming and sand or mud. I couldn't fit the dishes under the tap properly because they were so close to the edge. Basically the cabins are old and tired and need to be replaced. I would never stay there again until that happened. Even though the lake is on your doorstep the discomfort was not worth it for me. There was also no coffee making facilities, no welcoming sachets of tea, coffee and sugar and bottle of milk in the fridge. There is no accommodation in Australia that should be without coffee making facilities, basic cabin or not, a simple plunger is all that is needed. It's just unacceptable to have to go into town to get your first coffee. The pub had a fabulous salmon meal that l went back for the next evening. If you're gluten free there are no good cafès and you won't be able to get any lunch or breakfast so make sure you bring your own food.So in summary, a prime location, accommodation lacks finesse, town has limited food choices for the digestively impaired.

Stopped nearby for a brief leg-stretch, some lunch and to take the dog for a walk. Easy access to the water for a swim, and plenty of shoreline so not over-crowded.Good for a brief lunch stop-off if needed, or an overnight stay in the Caravan park. Caravan park facilities looked reasonable and the area seemed pleasant.

One night stay in our campervan. $40 for 2 adults with power. Laundry was clean and efficient. Dryer $4.00 for 1hr. All clothes and towels dried in the hour. Showers were clean. 5 minute timed shower with 2 minute wait for next 5 minutes. Took 1 minute for water to run hot so 4 minutes is not long enough to wash and condition long hair and body. Temperature fluctuated between too hot and too cold but I did eventually finish clean. Quiet park with a beautiful outlook of the lake.

Stayed here for Easter 2023. Was impressed with the size of the Sites (powered). Toilets were fantastic and cleaned daily. Got wood delivered with fire drum so didn’t have to worry about that. Very Happy and had a great Easter.
