G.J. Gardner Homes - Hobart

We have completed our design and are ready to sign a contract. Our experience with GJ Gardener especially Josh Laredo has been nothing short of amazing. Josh has engaged with us over a long period of time and on each occasion has been efficient, informative and honest. Josh and the team have made our pre-build experience very exciting and positive. My wife and I met with Josh Laredo a few weeks back with the aim of building a new GJ Gardner home. We found Josh to be very helpful right from the start. Together we modified a few features on our preferred design and now have a design concept and quote to move forward. The Preliminary draft plan process has now been initiated. A very satisfying journey so far.

Bad communication. Mistakes in the design of the build including guttering that overflows and bricks that overhang the concrete. Multiple mistakes in the installation that was a fight to get fixed including kitchen island in the wrong spot, uneven walls and damaged cupboards to name a few.Been over a year and they still haven’t fixed the problems that was due in the 3 month maintenance period. Which includes the guttering that still is not fixed and a cupboard that does not open. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They will turn in what is supposed to be a exiting time in to a hellish experience that you will regret

My fiance and I are currently in the administration stage with Bree, and cannot possibly thank her enough for all the stress we have already popped her through.But, our design process with Josh.... I can't possibly recommend him enough. We initially went in, with the hopes of building a dream mansion (which I'm sure most would), but Josh was super helpful in recommending designs to fit not only our block but our budget.Josh came out and met us on our block of land, explained things, gave us a rough idea of how things will end up looking on our block, how things will sit, and the small things that he would recommend for us to get the best out of our future design.Then once we had found a design, Josh was MORE than helpful altering it to the needs of our family. Spending countless hours wracking his brain trying to change around our design for us, keeping us on track with constant updated quotes everytime we changed or updated things. His communication with us, has been second to none. At no point of all this, have we felt like there has been a lack of communication. Josh goes OUT OF HIS WAY, above and beyond, to answer questions whether through text on a Sunday morning, or a phone call after hours. Josh is incredibly easy to communicate with regarding any questions or concerns. Even now that we are into the admin stage of things, Josh has assured us that he is still there for any questions or concerns we have, at any stage.We are more than thankful for all he has done for us!!!Can't recommend Josh enough.As for Bree, for the short time that we have spent in the admin stage, you have been so extremely helpful with all of our crazy requests in order to try and secure all of the first home builders grants. I'm sure further into the process, we will have many many more great things to say. Can't wait to continue through the process and see our first home, come to life.

Brad and I built our very first home with GJ Moonah, being a first home owner you have so many mixed emotions anxiety, excitement, fearAnd to first meet with Aaron with these emotions was so amazing from the very moment I sat down with Aaron he just got me! By just talking to him he recommended a design that would suit our needs there isn’t anyone I have meet that knows a business as well as he did he just about could tell me off the top of his head in detail things I needed to know, he then turned my whole life’s dreams into a design through out the whole building process Aaron was there on the end of the phone any time I needed even when his place in the building process was done he still picked up the phone and was happy to speak with me.Then Aaron introduced us to the rest of the team and to MEG, Meg is THE MOST amazing young lady I have ever met NOTHING at all was to much for that girl she was so hard working, professional, polite from the moment we met she was so amazing I can not say anything that would feel adequate enough to describe her she is an absolute blessing to this business.Adele was just as amazing we met Adele almost at the end of our build but was always happy to pick up the phone which I did ALOT of calling these people have never once made me feel like I was a Burdon to anyone in the office when we meet GJ Moonah our family grew because these people became apart of our families journey and what amazing people to have in your corner.We then meet ludeka and lenka who runs such An amazing family orientated business they were kind and made sure we were well informed lenka was so amazing and understanding when the bank was a little slower on making payment She was so easy and lovely to speak with.Then we meet DAVE, what can I say about this man that will do him the justice he deserves, he is such a genuine person understands your investing your life’s savings into your home and nothing is an issue you have an issue and Dave will try everything and anything to make sure you are happy, we have had some bumps along the road whilst building our home with GJ but that’s to be expected human beings are building your home and some times things don’t go quiet as planned but no once has Dave EVER said or made me feel like I was being unreasonable in my request I feel like you get what you give and Dave and the whole team have treated myself and my family exactly the same everything I’ve asked for Dave has done or organised for it to be done amazing communication with me which is paramount in this industry he just has it down pat and I would hope that he feels appreciated by his hard work.I’ve had emails from Dave so late at night I’ve emailed back saying stop working he just has so much dedication and drive which makes being a first home builder so much easier and stress free.Our home is exactly what we wanted even after our build site was closed for a short time we were well informed and kept up to date,With after care the professionalism didn’t stop when the keys were handed over even showing some defects that they were not happy with which we would never in a million years have even noticed they had a painter here the next day! Some other things have taken a little longer to have fixed some of this was out of GJ hands and have had to follow a process to have them finished but things have moved along which is all you can ask for when you have so many business involved in a build!Our family has settled in well to our new home and wouldn’t have had it any other way we got a new home and some fantastic new friendsIf your looking to build I would recommend GJ 100%You reap what you sow! be kind and treat with respect and it will end up with an amazing home and some great new family membersAlicia & Bradley Medhurst

Highly recommend GJ Gardener Hobart! Best team ever. Kylie helped us from the vacant land pick to the whole building design and Annie worked the colour selection with us. Everyone is so professional and friendly, all the details are taken care of, really helped me building my dream house! If we are going to build more houses, definitely will go with these people again.

I met with Josh over a year ago to obtain an approximate price for construction of a home design that I loved. Josh listened to all my ideas and was very responsive when I had questions . He answered all of my questions very quickly and I found him very knowledgeable in all aspects of the design and inclusions. I havefound Josh extremely honest and professional , he was delightful to deal with. We are now in the process of starting to build with GJ Gardner and looking forward to the next chapter. !Thanks Josh, Hannah and everyone at GJ Gardner Gardner West Hobart !!!

Met with Josh several times and found him very easy to work with. He was very open about costs and possible pitfalls and provided much needed information on the building process. Staff are always friendly and professional. Looking forward to working more with them.

I work as an electrical contractor for GJ Gardner Homes in Hobart and the whole crew are really good to deal with from the office staff through to the other subcontractors on site. The thing I find best is that they are always looking for ways in which they can improve all aspects of the build, not only for the clients but for everyone involved in the house building process.On top of this, they are the fastest and most consistent paying builders I have worked for. I look forward to working with GJ Gardner in the future and would recommend them to anyone considering building their next home.

Disgustingly rude and disrespectful. Home was built horribly and the Tasmanian owner Ludek is an absolute misogynistic c*nt. Would not recommend these people to my worst enemy.After 10 months they refuse to respond to us via email or phone.Incomplete dry walls with plaster showingDodgy electricsUneven stove top installationOngoing issues with plumbing (they didn’t check pipes before laying slab and there was styrofoam in them causing huge issues)Bricks are crumbingHeating wasn’t installed as requestedMuch more!!! These guys are scam artists.Don’t waste your $$ on them - only a matter of time until they’re bankrupt too.The owners are Ludek and Lenka Valta - PSA: STAY AWAY!!!
