About the Business
Owlands Reserve Yarra Ranges Council | Owl Lands is home to Australia's largest owl the Powerful Owl. The Powerful Owl nest in large very old (approx. 150yrs) tree hollows usually 15-40mts above the ground and at least 50cm deep. This bushland reserve has a trail that connects the Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail to Hereford Rd in Mt Evelyn. The site is popular for bird watching.

What a beautiful reserve. A known nesting place for the Powerful Owl - Australia's largest owl. I have been walking at night this week and have regularly been hearing the owl 'hoots' at night. Just look for possum bones scattered around the base of a tree to find the nest.

Owl Land Reserve
The entrance to Owl Land Reserve is tricky to find the first time you look. It's immediately opposite the junction of Old Hereford Road and Hereford Road. Set Maps to 99A Hereford Road, Mount Evelyn. There is no place to park so you will need to park somewhere inside the entrance to the Morrison Reserve, which is immediately across from 99A Hereford Road.
